in every ones minds the hero will have a different voice, if a set one was made then it would be like that all the time no matter what fighting methed you choose (if they keep the 3 classics of cambat, skill, and will) also i cant imagin a big feck off evil guy who has slayed millions of villages having the same voice as a pure soul thats never dont one thing wrong.

also the fact of age, i mean would it be like with wispers voice whos hasnt changed at all. tho it would be amusing if at the teen age years the heros voice keeps braking lol.

1 last thing, they should have the same voice actors for the emots.

(in reply to Darth_Juros spoiler) yea they could have atleast made the cuy yell out, like when bezerks cast

While I don't mind it, I do get tired of playing the role of mute main characters after a while and wish for a main character with voices, especially in open-ended RPGs. Just a thought.
Well really I didn't feel all that cheated until*spoiler*Jack killed the hero's mother and all he did was drop his jaw The only game that I could think of that I didn't really feel cheated about not having a voice was KOTOR series because we create our character and a black voice with a white face and vice versa wouldn't really match.....but I still love the fable series even though the hero doesn't express emotion the way some rpg characters do
As a matter of fact, I have to agree that a main character that is customisable to have a voice actor(s) is nearly impossible to pull off. That's the reality. Considering that there is a high possibility that Lionhead is going in this direction for Fable 2, having a voice actor might not be a good idea. If Fable 2's main character is one that is set, just like the main character in Fable: The Lost Chapters, then, there is a possibility for a voice actor.

And yes, I agree that Fable is still a good game to play even though the main character's a mute. I just wish that at least Lionhead should have provided some conversation options like the KOTOR series so that at least you can control the flow of the conversation rather than being some person who can't object or even make any comments regarding what the NPC said.

Whoa man... Like at the beginning of said game you like should be able to choose a gender and a voice for ur charcter. and depending on your alignment ur voice would change\ex.1 the more evil you get the more your voice gets all distortey and rumbly/

ex2 and the more good you are, voice gets smooth and all and caring like.

A cool thing for the people to say would be imitations of your voice, e.g. if you're low renown, villagers say in a funny voice like yours, Ohhh chicken chaser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gimmie voices

I say you get to pick how you character looks at the beginnning (really just race and hair color) then a voice line. I want a good guy with a booming voice, to strike fear into the heart of the wicked! Not a big godlike guy with a womans voice!!!!!

I wouldn't mind if the main character has a voice, provided that the voice actor is interesting and is able to portray the personality (and feelings) of the main character. However, it may require a tremendous amount of voice work to pull off. On the other hand, if Lionhead decides to go for a mute main character, I would at least prefer that they provided conversation options (both good and evil) for the player to choose. In a way, at least you feel that the main character does play a role in the game rather than just not participating in a conversation at all.

only certain kinds of games should have a main character speak. But a game like Fable that says "Hey you! this will be you new life. " it doesnt really fit in. game where you must choose your path and live this character's life the way you want to dont need voices for the main character. If this character is supposed to be me, well i wouldn't really enjoy having my self speak in emotions and tones completely different from the real me. It should be up to me to react to what people say to me. Even if that means jumping up in my couch screaming "Oh, Know i get it!"

sorry if i didnt make sense. For some reason, everything i said work out logically in my head.

Welcome to Gamebanshee Local blind man

It made perfect sense to me Although I would like a voice, I also agree with what you are saying. If its a roleplaying game, do you really need to have a voice? Sure its nice to have your character speak, but it does take something away from those players that want to pretend they are the main character. I personally pick a persona I want to roleplay as in roleplaying games, rather than myself, and often don't even pick the same gender characters as myself, but some people do like to play as themselves in these kind of games.

I THINK the main character should have a voice but if he did it would be very different from fable 1

No offence but what are you trying to say here?

Must've been Jack of Blades' voice or something. I don't think the hero ever said anything at all.

If there is an option for whether or not to have a voice then it would please both those that want one and those that don't. I doubt they will do this though - I've never come across a game where the voice is optional.

I think it would be lovely to hear the main character talk, because in Fable & Fable TLC. Without the main character having something to say, it made the story line feel so linear.
