whats up with the frying pan?

Well from what i found with my search all other threads just ask how to get it.but i got it and everyone says you can augment it up to 4 or 5 times but i can't even augment it once.I got tired of actually trying so i eventually just sold it and put it out of my mind till now.plz help.

You need to search better then, since this has been covered in other threads. If you don't find all the treasure clues, then you don't get the good frying pan.
