Most of you are aware that with points in guile, and after only a small amount of renown, a merchant will buy merchandize for more than selling it. The way it works is that if you buy his entire stock, he will pay more because he is out of stock for that particular merchandise. this allows you to buy all the gems that a merchant has, and sell it back, buy it again, and make a generous profit. allowing you to quickly make a bunch of money quick.
the twist on this is that each transaction where you sell items, you gain a single skill point per sell. exciting, eh?
make multiple trips through greatwood, and talk to all the merchants you can find. gather about 300-500 will potions, and health potions. (those are the two easiest to stockpile items in the game.) find an earth troll, (hobb cave entrance, or the lakes) hide behind a boulder so its range attacks will not hurt you. pull back your master longbow or crossbow for about two minutes, and you will kill it in a single shot (the longer you hold a bow back, the more powerful the shot
) your combat multiplier will jump to 25, and if you time everything correctly, you can talk to a potion merchant, sell all your will and health potions, buy, sell, buy, sell...repeat until you have about a million gold, and you will also have 60-90 thousand skill points. because the combat multiplier multiplies the skill points from trading. also, you want to use potions because you get one point per item, and thus the more items you have, the more skill points.
when your renown gets high enough to get earth trolls in the lakes, you can do this...use ranged weapon to kill with single shot(as per above), then rapid tap summon spell...keep tapping until your combat multiplier runs down to zero, and you now have with that one kill gained 20 thousand will points.
this is the fastest way to boost levels.
augmentation...the best augs in the game are not sharpening augs. a master greatsword with three piercing augs will do more damage than the solus greatsword against rock trolls and minions. solus greatsword with a flame augmentation will do more damage than any other weapon against summoners and ice trolls...and when you get the berever, putting two piercing augs will do the most damage against rock trolls and minions.
finally, the frying pan will take 5 augs in the xbox...stuff it full of mana augs(using hero save exploit), and equip a master longbow or crossbow with three more mana augs. 8 in total. you can still run out of mana, but you have to work hard at it. cast fireball all day.
