It's a 9/10 and if you want confermation just look online at what ratings it gets from game reviewers. It's usually a 9/10 or 4.5 out of 5.

Out of ten aye? Well I'll go with 8/10 great game, but in my opinion I've played much better. My rating would be 9/10 if I could go on Xbox online and some villages with fellow evil doers.

5/10. It's a decent RPG rather than the spectacular product that was supposed to redefine the genre--but I don't hold that against it. Why should I? PR nonsense doesn't define a game: developers do. What knocks Fable's score down IMO is the fact that it's only got about 20 hours of gameplay. That just doesn't cut it. Not when other RPGs of similar or better quality give you 60-120 hours of distinctive gameplay.

I should add that if you ask people who post in this forum what they think of the game, most of 'em will say it's great. That's to be expected, and each is entitled to their opinions--and what's more, given the subjectivity of the experience, they're just as right as I am. But if you want a greater breadth of opinion, you might try posting a similar question down in the Game Discussion forum.

Let's go with a 6.5/7. Now, I'm not a big RPG'er, but I love depth of story and the like (just not the typical LONG boredom times of leveling up and wandering around reading every little detail that's typical of RPGs). Deus Ex (original) and System Shock are two of my all-time favorite games mainly due to the heavy story/plot content.

It's a fun game, has a decent story, and a few (albiet limited few) choices really made you think before you acted.

However, clocking in at 19 hours and 1 minute my first time through to completion really made me glad it was my friend's game. Also, I went the mostly good route, and money seemed rather difficult to come by for quite some time--there were many weapons I could get, but I really had to choose wisely, because I wouldn't be able to afford another for quite some time. And heaven forbid I ever want to sell anything--the only things anybody even wanted (let alone give me a decent price for) were the only items I was using. My guile was maxed, which allegedly meant I would be a trading monster. Hate to see what prices the poor saps with no guile were getting!

I went back to just before the arena (for those who've played) to do some things differently, like getting better weapons before advancing just to make things more fun--I AM a hero, for Pete's sake, whipping the baddies should be an enjoyable past-time with all the latest and greatest in killing technology. Here we go back to the troll-killing levelling up dulldrums...

At least traversing the world wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been, but I really was expecting more depth and actual consequences for your actions than what it was. There should've been more actual good vs evil choices that had real consequences, not simply a "your good deeds outweigh your bad deeds, we'll be nice to you..." thing.

Yeah a lot of the reason so many other rpg's are so much longer is because you spend 50% of your time in that game on the world map or some place stuck endlessly hacking away at the same monsters. So I'd be nice to play a game that is 60 hours long, but not if 30 of those hours is spent walking around the world map, trying to get to the next cave/town/dungeon and fighting an endless supply of repetative monsters.

I was waiting for you to start arguing with a vote and opinion that differed from yours. The RPGs I meant didn't involve a lot of time spent on repetitive travel (Arcanum, BG1) or endless hacking (Lionheart). I was thinking of a bunch of others of varying age, some quite recent, that each promised 60-120 hours of distinctive, varied gameplay, and delivered it in spades. Fable doesn't offer this, and I personally find that a major drawback. Twenty hours is simply too short for a good RPG, in my opinion.

You don't. Guess we're going to have to agree to disagree.

To easy

5 out of 10 here. Game play was nice and easy to control, spell system a little clumsy I felt, but that was likely due to the fact that I'm new to Xbox and its controller.

Lasting opinion, nice graphics, fast game play, easy to get into, but way way way to easy, as has already been said 20 hours game play just isn't enough

5 out of 10 but going down.

Thought it was great when I first started. But now I'm on my 4th character and its getting boring.

I like the spell method, but most of the spells are useless.
There is no point to being all good. Being good makes you poor, because you cant steal things. Or kill people off for their realestate.

It is easy. Resurrection Vials? What are those for?

Hopefully Fable 2 (if there is one) will expand on this. Some nice big kill zones would be nice. Like the ability to go back to the arena and keep fighting.

It gives you choices but most of the time its not really much of a choice. Lots of weapons and armor and spells. But you end up using the same one all the time. Legendary weapons are given a price but nobody will buy them so whats the point. Heavy weapons always swing to slow so why use them? Crossbows same thing 1 to 1 they do more damage than a bow, but I can shoot the bow 3 times as fast as it takes to load the crossbow.

It is not a 8/10

what are you on? 8/10? its 3/10 max, there is no length to it, first time through doing all extra missions took me only 7 hours, second time, 9 hours as i discovered new things, it has a sorry lack of extra missions, and there are about 3 missions that you can just never do, im of course talking about the: Minion Uprising, snow troll attack and the tax one, they are always given right at the begining of the game and you can never do them. plus there is also the fact that it is sadly easy to max out nearly everything within about 2 hours of playing, and finally as the nails in the coffin, the size of the world. its tiny! the most spacious map(out of town) is about a 4 second walk from side to side, and at max a 45 second walk from end to end, thats just not what an rpg is about, rpgs are meant to be huge sprawling affairs, no tiny cramped little things.
that is all the bad i have to say

i hate to say it but i have to second with gromph's rating, it is simply too short, it is not worth spending 50 bux, just wait until the price goes down... which won't take very long

Did you have any fun playing it though? Dispite it being short? 3/10 is something I would give to barbie's dream ranch game. Do you compare it to that?

I feel somewhat insulted as I enjoy such high quality games as "Barbie Hair stylists", but in all seriousness I didn't compare it to anything of the sort, it has been given an RPG 3/10 which is in an entirely different league from Barbie and Nancy Drew games(and any other games of the sort), but you must also remember that I have just spent the last 4 months of my life engrossed in Morrowind, so it is only natural that I should view this game in a slightly tainted view, what with it not even being on the same level as Morrowind. I admit it isn't without its enjoyable moments, such as when you turn on a slow time spell and totally destroy about 10 enemies before the first hits the ground(somewhat reminisent of Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Outcast 2) either way you dice it though, the game just isn't living up to the hype, and as the other guy said, just wait for a month untill it costs 25 buck instead of 60 and it will be totally worth it
