my game keeps closing itself down!

It started yesterday. When I'm playing and does something special (use a flourish, teleport or leaving an area) the game just closes. I'm thinking it might have something to do with my graphics card. It's not supported on the official website. I have a Geforce 7600GS 256mb. Is there anything I can do about this? Have anyone else got the same problem?

Hmm. Does the game crash back to desktop while you're doing the above? You can try lowering the sound acceleration in the DXDiag menu and see if it solves the problem or not.

yes it closes down to the desktop. Can the sound acceleration really have something to do with it though? Sounds wierd I'll try it when I get home today... Sometimes the game gets stuck in a short loop, like 1 second. I then have to ctrl-alt-del and exit the game from there. Thanks again Des!

nope... didn't work... I had lowered the graphics to the minimum, and now that I raised them it closed itself down. But I played for about an hour! Forgot to save though I have to go with lower graphics I guess, which is wierd, because I can play Oblivion on the highest settings lag-less...

Maybe this method will work but it may or may not work so take this with great caution. Try to switch the compatibility of the game to Windows 98 to see if it helps or not.

I did that, and it haven't closed down since! Although the sound gets laggy when I save or enter a new area, but who cares?

thanks!
