Massive Help Needed (plz Plz Look)

hello, i had just bout the game and installed it no more then an hour ago...my problem is IT DOSNT FRICKING WORK!!! i installed it and inserted disk one back in and clicked the EXE. the only thing is, the loading screen came up but then a dialog box came up saying this :

"We are sorry, but we have detected that the game did not exit correctly. We recommend starting the game in safe mode. Safe mode may disable some advanced features of the game, but may allow you to play the game."

Then it says....continue anyways? or continue in safe mode... well that must mean its gonna work anyways right? WRONG, i click either anyways OR safe mode, and this is the message i get :

Microsoft visual C++ Library
Runtime Error
Program: Fable - the lost chapters/ Fable.EXE

The Application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way, plz contact the applications support team for more information....

I cant find anything about this error anywhere...plz plz plz im begging, someone plz help me out here....i hate wasting money...and if i have to take this back im gonna be pissed....so if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

how up to date is your graphics card? Because it seams that little thing is always the problem. Can't they make an ultimate one?

Lol yea i hear ya man....um its a Nvidia GeForce4 MX 420....and i just went to the Nvidia webby to get the latest driver...and i created a new user but still no luck lol...what can i do to make it work?

Ok it turns out that my video card IS IN FACT ON THE LIST that the game supports...i thought it wasnt....but still it says my video hardware is not up to date? what is the problem? the the game supports it, why isnt it supporting it?

A friend of mine have a Geforce 4 MX and he can't run it either. The error message isn't the same as yours as his error was that his card doesn't support Pixel Shader 2.0 or something when he tried to run Fable. I'm afraid that you will have to upgrade to a new graphics card in order to run it.

well that sux....guess ill just bring the game back for store credit (hopefully) and get morrowind instead....thanks for everyones help

well not to ruin anything but it might be better to get a new graphics card becasue some other games need a graphics card higer and this brings up my point again they should just make one ultimate type graphics card that will take the best graphics

if they do that, then in two years a game will look like crap and someone will want to improve the graphics. So they make a new system. Then wham! doesnt work on that SUPER CARD. So they make a new card to run that game that doesnt work on the other one in the first place. Its called money making skills. Lol

Every new graphics card series are released 6 months after the previous series (especially when it comes to the high-end ones). Why do we have different types of graphics cards (high, mid and low end) under a particular series? Because there are people out there who can't afford the high-end ones or those who just want to play games, not to enjoy the beautiful scenery (there are a plethora of reasons).

The only way these graphic card manufacturers are going is up. No backtracking or sidetracking. Technology improvements, better game support, the reason Hooded Rogue mention and many other reasons why they want to stay on top of their game. Nothing we can do, since that's the only way they're going.

Thank you to everyone! i couldnt take fable back to the store, because well, it had already ben opened...so i still have the blasted thing even though i cant play it....i bought elder scrolls 3 with all the expansions and it works fine, but i also got a copy of oblivion i won at a drawing in my town here (even though i have it and beat it many times for the xbox 360) and what really ticked me off is i have these three GREAT games (fable, morrowind, and oblivion) and only morrowind works!!! thats right....new copy of oblivion and BAM my Graphics card is good enough....I AM PISSED, so i got a job on my uncles farm (yuck, but 7 dollars an hour and i work when ever the hell i want for however long i want aint bad) and i am goin to buy a new graphix card, (asked the guy at walmart about wich one would be best and he FREAKED OUT about this one...) i dont know what the name is, all i know is the box is red and $128...i woulda almost had enough money to buy it but i decided to take muh girl to Pirates of the carribean 3 las night sooo im out like 30 bucks plus the 30 i needed LOL but anyways, jus wanted to say thanks to everyone about my lil problemo here, even though i went off on a lil tangent haha but thanks again
