Help with Book Quest (Merged)

The most annoying IS the Bowerstone book quest, has anybody else had trouble with this quest? I have 29/30 silver keys and need that last one but he just goes on about 'The Book Of Spells'. Does anyone have any tips? Please?

Actually you should get both hats...though it depends on how much books you donate..

wrong only 1 (I got the dark one) but you get a silver key

I think he's having a problem finding books. Either the teacher is asking for a certain book (and he's asking where to find it) or he has it and there's a glitch. Or he could just be needing books, in that case some of the merchants have books (mostly bad ones though, giving you the dark/black wizards hat).

FYI (in case you forgot) the type of book you give determines which hat you get. If i gave the teacher lots of bad books (books that set a bad example, like Winddbreaker's rule book, how to look scary...etc) then he'll give you a dark wizard's hat. The opposite (informational books mostly, like those on creatures or heroes) will make the teacher give you a light wizard's hat.

Well, im on the book donation quest. im trying to get the dark wizard hat. And i cant get rid of the "book of spells". Everytime that i try to give him other evil book he just keeps saying "The Book of Spells? this isn't some potty school for wizards you know". So there must be some way that i can get rid of it or something, or im never going to be able to get that hat. How do I get rid of the "book of spells"?

First of all, hello and welcome to the forums, Fable Maniac.

To answer your question, no. It's not possible to get rid of the Book of Spells. You can donate other books except that one. If you want to get the Dark Wizard hat, try reading this part of the walkthrough.

hey thanks... but i already tried that and every time i try to give him one he always goes for the book of spells. is there any way i can pick the book to give him instead of him picking?

Not possible. Tried that before and he always chooses books at random. The only way is to plan beforehand on what books to get before meeting the headmaster to make things easier.

But when you look through book cases, there isnt a way to reject that book from being in your inventory. Plus im nearly done with the game i dont want to start all over again. So there isnt a way i can sell it or something?

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! except on the evil side. I try giving him evil books but he just keeps saying " The Book of Spells, this isn't some potty school for wizards you know" HE WONT STOP SAYING THAT! so i guess im never going to be able to get the dark wizards hat... help please....

Well, I do recall coming across a bookshop in Snowspire Village. I think you can sell or buy books there, though I could be wrong (the selling part). You can also try to donate it to a charity while there.
