Fable: Who will you be?

OK, to me, one of the greatest things in this game is the goor or evil, and while it is no new concept, the versitility of the rest of fable makes me really look forward to it. Along with the millions of other choices you can make about your character, I have a very specific idea of what my character will look and act like. I think it would be interesting to know what other people have in mind for the game, unless I am just off my caboose and nobody else does anything like that with games...

name: Maximus
I was planning on an evil persona... but now I discover to my displeasure that if I do that I will grow ugly horns. Not cool. As you can make a character with a neutral alignment, I will go with that. I will probably go with 60% combat 40% magic, because the use of magic takes away life expectancy (i think) and I want a buff character, not some stick man who never excercises because he can zap himself around and never lifts up a sword. Because 'your muscles bulge with each feat of strength you perform' I assume that excercise makes you stronger... and I think I will go with sword, not axe or bow.

thats about it...

Stealth is my thang. 80% stealth and 20% combat should do it. But hey, I don't have a xbox and I don't intend to buy one. So who cares...

I'll probably start off with a fighter who uses some magic, too, until I get the hang of the game a little more. Oooo, I'm so excited. It had BETTER come out in September, otherwise I say we should boycott! And I'm goin to make a chic who looks like me, but isn't quite as nice. Not that that matters, since none of you know what I look like, anyway. Hard enough always going out on a limb for everybody in real life, it's nice to be just a little evil in the games once in a while.
I know, I'm a little put out that evil characters turn so stenchy and flies follow them around and stuff. Most evil people I know are gorgeous. I have a very evil character on KOTOR and MAN is she UUUUGLY! Makes me sad.
@Jest: Maximus? Do I spy a fellow Gladiator fan?

lol! no... my name is max, and maximus just happens to be a very cool name for a fictional character in games. or at least in my opinion it is. so gladiator is a good game? i was tossing and turning on whether or not to get it instead of ELder Scrolls as my fable (have to mention it at least once... otherwise this thread become way off target) substitution... and it didnt seem as open ended as morrowind... is it good?

You mean Gladius, methinks, and ohhhh *drools* I LOVE that game. You've got to REALLY think about your strategy. Hehe I made my brother get it for me as an anniversary present. No, it's not open ended at all. It's a battle strategy game. Quite, quite excellent.
Maximus is from the MOVIE Gladiator. One of my faves. Uhhh... can't wait for Fable! There. I followed your lead.

I cant wait tilll I get my hands on it gee golly wow i am excited *last sentence recited in monotone*

What?
Maybe I, too, shall have to try out this... Gladius... I saw trailers for it and poo like that. Though... I'm not sure. I'll have to look into it further. I, also, cannot wait until Fable comes out. Though I don't think I'm as obsessed with the release as JesterKing is. I was waiting for Thief: Deadly Shadows to come out, and now that it's here, I have something to keep me busy till Fable finds its way out. And I'm gonna have to play Deus Ex: Invisible War a few more times.

Hehe, I'm gonna make a good person [as always, just like in black in white!(which has taken hours of my time yet i still havent beaten it)]. Yea, I might go with war hammers or pole arms if they are available. then be about 100%fighting . Then on my second character I'll make a mage. I only wouldn't fuse together characters like you did jester because in all my experience a mage/fighter always sucks. Oh, and his name would be Smoney22. And i would frequent bars to get popular with the ladies (Purrrr!)

I dunno...I'm more the type to use an evil style to implement good. Where my brother uses a good type to implement evil. We'll just have to wait and see the options for Fable.

Fable information

Ok...umm..You do know you can't create a female character in Fable?
And you can't name you'r character. You can buy titles or earn them.
By titles I mean things like Mighty Warrior or Chicken Kicker.

Anyway heres my character concept;
I will be evil. I won't just slaughter people or be crude in anyway.
I will be medium sized. Not small or buldging of muscle. Toned.
Long black hair. I will use a straight sword. My weapons will be a straight
sword, bow, and dagger. My main fighting style will be meelee, but i will
be agile enough to put my dagger and bow to work. If someone annoys
me I will injure them and if they continue they will die. I will be an opportunist
who uses stict logic, with no morals.

First where did you find this info.

I can't believe that they wouldn't let you name your own character or let you choose a woman for a character. Thats just basic RPG ideals.

The titles are neat but not name your own char Thats hard to believe.

Ok, the main idea of a Role Playing Game is to play the role of someone. Here you play the role of this little boy whose village was destroyed when he was a kid. So that's part of the reason you don't get to choose sex and name. Also, there are loads of weird things like you get to increase the size of your muscles if you want, but you have to do certain quests in the game (like moving boulders or something muscle increasing) or you can concentrate on your killing skills if you don't want bulky muscles. There are lots of coding and things in the game to where if you could choose male or female, it would make the game that much harder to produce.

Since when does it matter what your name is? I must have played a million games under the name of someone else and the games I did get to choose my name, I didn't even pick my real name. I used a made up one. This game is like a classic RPG. You actually have to play the role of this kid and unlike other games, instead of creating the character in the game, you get to create the role.

I was thinking of either going for a neutral wirey looking guy that is 100% into stealth..

OR a really old looking evil guy that is 100% into magic..

OR a really buff necked idiotic good guy..

Cliches are so awesomely awesome to play!

*Editted*
I actually didn't look at Fable at all when I made this decision..it just sounded like this would work here..but I looked at the trailer and 2 movies on gamespy and I just about crapped myself..I REALLY want this game now! I wanna be the gladiator forced into battle and spares his enemies when they want to be spared (kinda like how you can do in NWN on some of the special nps..you can either kill them or let them go).

So I am gonna be the big buff melee good guy with all the ladies..and maybe some of the men too
