Fable, the Good and the Bad

Fable, the Good and the Bad...

Well, I feel ashamed to say that I haven't finished it yet, and I've had at least 7 hours on it since I got it... I should stop starting new characters... but the main problem that I have with Fable is the fact you can't customize your character as much as I'd like, you cannot play as a female and last but certainly not least your alignment determines what you look like... like, how come when you are evil, your hair is dark and when you are good you are blonde???? *cough* Hollywood Influence *cough* and my friend was insulted, how come DARK clothing is evil?????????? and how come good characters are more attractive??? yes, that was a heartbreaker for her... and why, why WHY is there no more variety of items??? I mean, sure it has an average amount of most RPG's (except Morrowind...) but the anticipating surge that I had before It came out was crushed when I started playing and found out my inventory consisted of a stick, a iron longsword and a iron katana and there was hardly anything I could do about it...when I found out you can't run off the path I was very distraught... well, I mean, thats a lot of complaints but overall Its an ok game the graphics where killer and the partial-freedom was ok... just, It hurts when dreams are crushed...

I'd give it a 7.5...

Yes, I was disappointed in that myself.

I'd rather play heroine than hero, but there ya have it.

Not nearly long enough or hard enough. I beat it without dying once and only used the block button the 5 times it forced me to at the beggining. But what i hate the most is that when you are good EVERYONE loves you. There is not just one person jealous or other evil people trying to stop me. Just a town full of people with big hearts over their heads and a few bandits in a forrest.

Lightbulb archer

i found that the game was harder as an archer
it takes awhile to get every shot off
the swarm of creatures attacking, avoiding getting hit, sneaking up on enemies, and lining up sniper shots (not auto-target)
it is harder to become an decent archer
you have to time every battle depending on enemy

i would have liked an open map, to go to hook's coast at beginning

i wish things were more special, so the choices were really mattered
like if you married the barber, free haircuts and the business or some weapons can only use a certain type of augmentations, if you gambled a lot, you could build up credit, ya know?

No game can be perfect, there are some things that could have been better but i think its good because of its so called replay value, ive completed it twice now (i know its nothing to brag about but it only came out in the uk on friday) and its still really fun because there are so many things to be done in it.

They don't let you customize your character because you're playing a specific person. Not yourself, so that you can make up a character. How many people didn't like zelda? Geeze, why can't anyone realize that this is a different kind of RPG then morrowind and everquest? AND PLZ QUIT COMPARING THIS GAME TO MORROWIND, PEOPLE! I don't spend that much time online and that's all I hear about the game is it being compared to morrowind by morrowind fanboys and girls. Here you get to create the story rather then the character. You didn't like the weapons you started out with? Well after the first mission you get to go into town and buy any weapon you want, granted you figure out how to pay for it. Things I liked about this game, was the control settings. You could do so many different things using just the buttons on your xbox controller. I liked the variety of emotes, quick casting spells, weapons switching blocking and ect. Rather then games like MORROWIND where you just sit there tapping the attack button over and over until its dead, not really any challenge there. I liked the spells in this game, how they all did different things and you could create your own characters strategy using a certain set of spells. The gambling, drinking, interacting with the town was fun to try and even being able to settle down in bowerstone. As far as the white = good and black = evil. Over time how many good guys have you seen waring white and how bad guys have you seen waring black? I realize white = good and black = evil is not the universal, written in stone, definition, but the answer to my previous question might be the reason why they decided to colorize good with white... ect ect. Heaven is always pictured as bright and white and hell is always pictured as dark and black... if maybe that helps ya any. I don't think alignment had anything to do with attractiveness. I thought it was due to your haircuts, tattoos and some armors, but if it did. Then good would give you more attraction while evil would give you more scariness. EVIL WOULD WANT THE SCARINESS, RIGHT? and good wouldn't want the scariness, right?

Did this game really dissappoint you people? I happened to enjoy it, despite it not being 100 hours long like a japanese rpg.

I may be bad, but I feel good.

Exclamation No!

i love fable, i would never compare it to TES, which i also love
they are two different concepts
there are also things that i hated about TES
(ex. that you spend the first 10 hrs running for life bc character is too weak)

it's just the "once you see what you have", you always want more!!

i was trying to give my wishes, maybe ::cross fingers:: for sequel

Yeah, I guess the real thing I wanted was for Fable to be a Fable/Morrowind hybrid... *shrug* I think I'm just spoiled over Morrowind. Either way, the thought of a Classic Morrowind, Fable-influenced game makes my mouth water... Well, there's always Oblivion! Anyways, Fable's pretty easy to cheat at : because of the Hero Saves and the World Saves, you just overwrite a world save with a hero save and then load the save and you can get multiple valuables... (20 silver keys @ rose cottage for instance.) so that makes it all worth while when my siblings and I are comparing characters!
