Demon Door 6 (greatwood caves)

To open this demon door i must get my combat multiplier up to 14.

Do i have to do this in-front of the demon door, or can i do this anywhere?

If the answer to my question is "in-front" of the door, is there a way i can open this demon door this without getting innnocent citizens to follow me there and then i just slaughther them? or is there a "better" way to do this?

It has to be in front of the door. I suggest just charging your bow for about 3 minutes and then shooting the earth troll. That should get it to at least 25, obviously more than sufficient. To keep from getting hit while charging, just walk up close to him, then when he's going to ground pound, back out of the AoE, and then come close again before he throws rocks at you and repeat for a while. I think about 15 ground pounds worth should be enough to kill him in 1 hit and get your CM up pretty high.
