Bards? usefull or not?

Ive seen two bards today, one at knothole glade and one upstairs in bowerstone tavern. Do these bards actually have a purpose or are they just there to sing a pretty song?

They sing songs for you that's it. Although their songs often tell me I am "Skorm's Favourite". So I guess their usefullness is making you feel good about yourself.

Yeah, mine say I'm "Avo's Greatest Fan" so that is cool. Although I have heard of a mission that has to do with them.
