I'd much prefer that you go to some blacksmith to adjust the length of the sword rather than have it magically grow. Its more logical that way.

I know its great but the problem is that it might not suit the setting in Fable 2. Maybe if you can insert your grapling hook with a rope tied to it into your musket, that would be more in tune with the setting.

| | I'd like to see weapon, armour sets for certain professions. Like, if you want to be a thief you buy black, stealthy clothing that give you stealth bonusses, daggers in stead of swords and things like the earlier mentioned grapling hook. A warrior gets heavier armour and big swords. A ranger gets bows(I refuse to say guns since i hate guns), ranger armours(medium defence and light) and long knives. A mage gets mage robes which give mage bonusses and a staff.
Just something I'd like to see though...I dont like the fact that a mage in platemail is stronger than a mage in mage robes...
Also more options for your house like pets would be cool.

I also have some thoughts about a magic skill known as Multi arrow. I know this is kind of off-topic but what if the developers decides to use a similar skill like Multi-arrow on guns in the next Fable. I'll just call it 'Multi-bullet'. I was thinking like if you cast this certain spell, many bullets will fly out of the gun just like that of a shotgun instead of coming out from the back like in Fable: TLC. Not sure if its a good idea but I just want to express it anyway.

| | | Sorry that i was so vague, I was referring to your magic defence and attack.Your physical defense and attack should -of course- be higher when you're wearing plate/chain(/leather, etc.) armours. Although i dont know if melee armours should give a melee attack bonus, seems kinda weird to me..

From a roleplaying point of view, mages should (in my opinion) have restrictions on armour they can wear and weapons they can wield. I'd like to see better mage robes as TLC said, but I'd also like to see more mage/magic user specific weapons. It makes no sense to me to have a mage walking around in heavy armour with no spell casting restrictions or happily using a two handed great sword. I'd like it if they include something like a magic staff that gave benefits to mages, such as increased mana, mana regeneration or magic damage.

| | I can only ad this: there should also be special augmentations for the mage weapons that give mage def/attack bonusses.
Also augmentation should (sometimes) have a penalty. For example: melee attack +10, ranged attack -5.

I'm not that much of an RPG gamer but seeing some mage running around in heavy armour, casting magic to his heart's content without suffering any penalties looks very weird to me. Coupled with the ability to wield a two-handed sword does look out of place for a mage. As what Mr_Sir has said, the armour should have penalties for magic users and don't possess protection against magic. The robes on the other hand, should have more resistance on magic but not against physical attacks.
I don't mind if mages carry swords but they should have restrictions as to what type of swords they can wield (medium sized swords). Maybe they can dual wield weapons like a staff in one hand and a sword in another just like how Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy wields both his sword and his staff. Now that would be really cool to me.
P.S. Great. As I was typing this message, Firefox crashed on me. Now I had to retype everything from scratch. Anyway, I had to add some statements and correct some typing errors.

| | | We keep on talking about mages, but doesnt the same thing count for rangers? A ranger is supposed to be agile (please tell me if im wrong), still you're a better with heavy platemail than with much lighter chainmail or leather.

Rangers/archers could maybe gain a bonus to their bow skills when wearing lighter armour. I think it would be good if they, in general, make it so certain armours link well with certain types of weapons by adding bonuses to those skills. So for example, no armour or light armour could increase the damage or chance to hit with a bow, mage robes and weapons could have benefits specifically designed to benefit the mage, and heavy armour and large weapons could need a higher strength before you can use them and offer penalties to things like magic and ranged attacks.
Edit: Seeing as we are discussing armour as well and it kind of ties in with the discussion about weapons, I've editted the title of the thread to include discussions about armour as well. It seems more sensible than requesting that everyone stops discussing armour in this thread and start a new one. If anyone has a problem with this or would prefer a seperate thread for armour then PM me and I'll change it back
