Pets in Fable 2

Meh cruel shmule - I don't want no dog following me around. Although... if the dog was evil looking and bit people and was a loyal dog of war, tempered to hunt people down and eat their faces off I *might* be inclined to tolerate it.

An eagle would be cool. I'd like one very much. I mean it could be fast and it could scout more vast areas than a dog but the benefits in scouting would reduce its fighting capabilities. Maybe it could go and beat somone's head and then you could shoot the head of the foe, so the eagle/hawk would be a good scout and disturbing attacker that gives you time to run for instance

yeah, like other people said, birds would be nice. It would be good to have a bird's eye view of your terrain, and tell your bird to drop its load onto unsuspecting bald villagers - a target mini game.

If you could enchant your dog/cat/mouse/horse/elephant/bird/lemming/tree/lemmingtree, to have a fire bite or something, that would be cool.

The cool thing will be that Lionhead are trying to make the dog as non-annoying as possible.... so after people get over the prejudice that an AI dog is going to be annoying, it might be a great effect.

a cool idea is how they did the pet system on dungeon siege 2. what if it was like that on here? walk around witha giant ice elemental at ure side..WOW the enemies would be like !

this is a mix of post so i dont know what thread to put it in.
what if you have a microphone, and u can give you pets specific orders, that are found in the manual? or you could set your own pet script commands? you could say scout and they fly withing a 5 mile radius looking for enemies of something like that. what do you think?

Agreed, I'd love for more games to be like the old Fallout or Baldur's Gate - so long as they had the same depth, more dialogues, more options, more choices - most getting your way on what you want and having a rich, compelling and difficult main story to follow like in Planescape Torment. Hell I'd rather my game be linear, and have a compelling storyline, rather than being completely and utterly open with no substance what so ever.

If in Fable 2 you'll be able to get married, own a house, have kids, have a dog - that's already hitting hard on Harvest Moon. If you tame whatever animal you like, that's hitting let's say Pokemon. If it's all open and yadda yadda you got your basic Morrowind right there. So long story short, no there ain't no originality - and the graphics... all games just seem to keep upgrading their graphics to make you buy new pcs and get new graphics cards and such. Why don't they just stick with what works and that's it?

And as for the animal... well I just want for there to be a little more variety.

Sry i didn't quote you earlier i had a lotta stuff goin on. Yeah it's fine when i said what i said all i meant was that you have a love for cats and stuff like i like wolves. No biggy i didn't even really lean toward arguing just stating. But im sorry for dragin this out but i still think it'd be cool. If you dont wanna tame animals dont but i always thought it was cool like in diablo thats like the best game as well as wow which his many hits. I actually didn't know beast taming was that dragged out i thought it was a new type of idea.

look you hav to look at the bigger picture sure id lov to hav a giant scorpion as a pet but there are to many problems with this

1. the dog follows u ever since the start of the game so this ruins the availability of getting a different pet unless they hav a fable RSPCA

2. out of all these animals u hav to look at the loyalty of them sure some cats arnt loning indicisive twats but a pretty dam amount of them are. infact the most realistic view of a loyal pet is a dog, and yes it would be nice to choose the breed of dog.

3. peter has this problem of promesing the world and is predictably crushed under the wait of his own ambishons

Ok in this game called monster rancher you pop in a disc it reads it and gives you a monster to fight with but what if you could do that but get pets yea. That would be kinda cool.
