I noticed in the Fable 2 teaser trailer at the end where the character shoots the beast at point blank that there is another character there. I had the idea that you can create a party of characters (the only controlable is the main). They're just party members that help you out whenever you need them, characters that you can find at the guilds. You can't equip them, control them, etc... they're just there for backup.
Let me know what you think about this.
