| | | Hero talk? I don't think having your hero talk would be a good idear, as and differnt aligments you would have to sound differnt, I mean, If you were pure evil, you wouldnt want a voice of a kind, care-free young man, would you??

The voice actor can make himself sound like a mean person when you choose a really mean conversation choice. No need to go all the way to change the tone of voice. In fact, I would much prefer if the main character in Fable 2 have a voice because I'm quite tired of seeing games with main characters who are mute and it would be nice to hear your main character speak.

| | | Well, It would be good having a character to talk, but it would make the game much longer to make, unless they can edit the voice on a comptuer.

You need a voice actor just to voice a character. And I don't mind if they (the developers) take a long time just to develop the game. The end result is usually better if the developers take their time. I know that having a voice actor for the main character is possible to pull off. It just depends on how it is done.

I think the evil thing said in a pleasant, carefree manner is especially wicked.
You don't have to bark obscenities to be percieved evil. Remember Irenicus in BG2?
Also it could be funny if they would be able to add some voice comments the same way as expressions. Possibilities are endless. |

| | | In my opinion, the main character should talk and you should be able to choose different sound sets for your character. This will take a lot of time and effort for the developers to implement into the game but I think it would be worth the wait.

It could be possible for the voice actor to voice conversation lines in different tones but it might look very peculiar for a voice actor to be given a task like that.

The one that played Batman on Batman begins, He did a hell of a job on changing voices once wearing the black custume. It is not impossible. |

The voice actor can just voice the darker conversation option with a darker tone rather than do the whole conversation with 2 different tones. Much simpler to the developer.

When u become a good Hero a nicer sounding tone occures ( It is optional not to use the same actors or edit sound output, as long as they slightly match the original sound first spoken with on neutral allignment).
It is not that hard to imagen, |

| | | I don't know if its just me but I felt cheated that my hero couldn't express his anger, sorrow, happieness other than emotes but of course he did witness a tragedy so that could have explained him being a mute......I wouldn't mind having a voice to the hero but in order for it to work the sound of his/her voice should change when his alignment does. |

I always thought that it's the developer's decision to leave him as a mute. I've been seeing this trend in some games as well, including the linear ones like the Half-Life series to name a few. While I don't mind it, I do get tired of playing the role of mute main characters after a while and wish for a main character with voices, especially in open-ended RPGs. Just a thought. Quote:

As mentioned before, voicing the evil conversation option in an evil tone and the good conversation option in the good tone. Much simpler that way.

Well really I didn't feel all that cheated until*spoiler* Jack killed the hero's mother and all he did was drop his jaw The only game that I could think of that I didn't really feel cheated about not having a voice was KOTOR series because we create our character and a black voice with a white face and vice versa wouldn't really match.....but I still love the fable series even though the hero doesn't express emotion the way some rpg characters do | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
