| | | Guild or no guild? I personally would like to see a bit more improvment to the guild, such as a cage were creatures are stored and you can fight them. |

| | | No, because if they made a guild, it'd most likely be based off of the last one. A guild isn't something that you are just randomly offered and accepted into, and it's certainly more elusive, mysterious, and grand than "Heroes guild."
So I'd like to see a more freeform adventure, where you can follow the main quest in a way, but side quests seem more attractive and fun. |

| | | While I agree with Siberys' point about you not being randomly accepted and being accepted into a guild, I personally wouldn't want to see the guild removed from Fable 2 since not only was the guild important but it also played an integral role in Fable: The Lost Chapters. After all, the main theme in Fable is about being a hero so removing the guild severely impacts the whole purpose of what Fable is all about.
However, I just wish that they would improve upon the aspects of the guild like for example, aside from getting used to the combat system in the game, maybe they should have other students competing with you (the main character) during the grading process. As for most quests (both main and side quests), maybe they should reduce its reliance on the guild and instead shoud be either town-based or through conversing with other characters.

| | | I think keep the gild just update it to some secret building like underneath a logshed or something. I thought the guided tour in Fable was a little over the top.

| | I'd much prefer if the guild is visible and in a large, stately old building like the guild back at Fable: The Lost Chapters. Then again, having a hidden guild like what some have mentioned does sound kind of cool too.

| | | I'd be quite happy for the guild to be similar to how it is in Fable, but just a bit bigger and more complex, with different/more areas with a variety of training methods available. I'd prefer to actually train to increase my skills rather than just stand in a magic light and suddenly become more powerful.

I'd much prefer to level up by yourself after getting enough skill points in a certain skill area rather than heading all the way back to the guild to level up. I'm straying off-topic here so let the discussion continue.

What i would like is what i mentioned earlyer.. Not one guild but a few
They should make several guilds or training sections, U can start of at the normal Guild to practice melee combat ( so obviously i want it to make a comeback ) Make somekind of forrest Guild to learn the ways of the archer... And a big magical guild in the snowy sides of the land ( Like Hookcoast or snowspire ) to learn the ways of the will user... ect ect..that would B a nice improvement.. also it will make u even choose ur characters path more detaild becouse at fable: the lost chapters it was very easy to change ur skill stature becouse it was all there for grabs....
I dont know if this was off topic but that is something i would like the most |

| | | Well, I think having a Hero guild is an organic part of this particular game. If somebody wants multiple guilds, there are Elder Scrolls out there. I am not saying I don't like the idea but if they decide to leave the leveling system unchanged you would have to visit different guilds every time you need upgrade. And if you would like to compare options it might become a nightmare. Anyway, I would like to see more services in the Guildhall, maybe a place to upgrade weapon-armor with unique items, sold or found... Or some political intrigue, so you can choose sides and wreck havoc. Something that would make it more interesting to return and check out.
I wonder how the hero is going to enter the guild. Are we supposed to witness another child-teen-adult metamorphose? I was under impression that childhood and first years were a sort of tutorial.
I agree that there should be more non-guild quests and please, no more merchants to escort! |

Becouse... they where.. actually.. It was ment to show u the diffrence between good and bad, and offcourse getting fermiliar with the controls so when u leave the guild u know what to do.

But heads up lady_dragonfly Traders quests are fun they should make more of them actually, it is a great way to earn money and to know the ins and outs of the land... Anyway this discussion should be saved for the fable ideas Thread | . |

| | Of course it was a tutorial and of course it was much needed, that is a point of my argument in favor of the guild.
As to the question of escorting the merchants I am sure there will be plenty of those along with other generic things. My point is I wish we could get more fresh ideas and interesting quests, with a better storyline, twists and turns and whatever makes your gaming experience less dull. And by all means enjoy escorting merchants. I don't. |

| | Secret society means an organization a la Dark Brotherhood or some rebels/conspirators headquaters or at least a petty Thieves' Guild. They are unlawful and therefore have to be secretive to survive. They operate in shadows. To join them you have to be invited by a member after performing certain deeds and being deemed worthy of the membership.
On the other hand, the Hero Guild looks to me like an elite school, quite legitimate and prestigious. And since a would-be hero is admited in early childhood, the criteria are totally different.
I don't think you can have it both ways.
Anyway, why a huge underground complex is better than a huge aboveground complex? I personally prefer castles and courtyards (and day/night setting with everchanging sky); secret rooms and passages you have to puzzle your way in (including cellars and dungeons); factions within guild you can join (and betray) with remote consequences etc. Plus joining a faction should provide a certain benefit and additional quests.
And to join a faction you should be of certain alignment, pass initiation rites and recieve one of the ridiculous titles. One of the faction would require total abstinence and maybe castration in exchange for acute clarity of the mind. You will get a special tatoo commemorating the event. I already imagine some comments made by local barmaids.
And then... you will discover that there is a secret society within Hero guild!!! They have their own sinister agenda and you must join them or perish!!! |
