You then slow the game down with that. Because you have to pause, select your ammo, then get back to the game, I managed to go through Fable with little weapon switching. That and additional ammo slots would create more screens for gameplay... Bad Idea.

Or they could make it so you can switch ammo or weapons by pressing a button without having to go into your inventory, like they do in the GTA games or to a lesser degree in Kotor 2 (where you can set up two weapons and just click an icon to switch between the two)

Guns would be cool, but they MUST be old style barrel guns and rifles. I didn't like the Bows too much in Fable, not my style. I mean, how do you take off a guys head with an arrow? I would love to see an enemy coming at me, and BAM! Headshot. They better have silver bullets for hunting Balverines(assuming they have Balverines, they better have Blverines)

Good point there, Demortis. The game pace will slow down considerably and add to that problem is more menus just to select your type of bullets.

I think I might have an idea. What about mapping keys to the different types of ammo when you switch to the gun such as number keys for the different type of bullets or using two keys to cycle among the different bullets in your inventory?

Well, of course the guns have to be the old-fashioned ones since the Fable 2 trailer showed a character armed with that type of gun. And about arrows blowing off someone's head, yeah, I have to agree. Why didn't they make it like the head still stays on the body except that the arrow will remain stuck on his head?

Agreed. In fact, guns should have some range limit as well. I can't imagine shooting someone's head off at a distance of 10km for example.

I just don't like the idea of guns, it will ruin the mystic effect of fable. I think it's too easy to just 1hit kill every1 with a gun. When there are 20 people with guns shooting at you, i really don't think you still have the time to watch the beautiful landscapes etc....

Well, they could make it like headshots are instant kills. As for shooting some other part of the body, it would take multiple shots (not too many, of course).

Now this will sound very much off-topic but what about using the cover and fire method used in quite a number of FPSes and 3rd person shooters? It might at least give some protection against a volley of bullets. They could also use a lean feature commonly used in a number of FPSes like FEAR and Call of Duty 2 for example where you can hide behind a wall and lean to either left or right so that your whole body may not be exposed.

<Removed inappropriate statement>
EDIT: Removed an insulting statement. My apologies if I have offended you, TLC.

P.S. What's wrong with me these days? I really had better be careful about what I type in the near future.

Des, I realise that you are just joking, but the forum rules clearly state that:

#1 - Flaming, humiliating, ridiculing, or belittling other members will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, take it to private messages or email.

Some people may enjoy the general atmosphere of the game, and the scenery and surroundings more than the fights themselves. RPGs cater for lots of tastes, not just those that like the combat. TLC has a valid point - if you are constantly under attack from loads of enemies with guns it would make it very easy to die so you would have to focus primarily on just getting past them alive.

No hard feelings des, every1 has a different opinion and i can respect that.

I am one of those people that don't play the game for the fighting, but for the fun and the nice details

That's okay.

Anyway, about guns, I had to bring up the question as to how you reload your gun and how fast will it be. In my opinion, I had a slight concern that the reload time for a gun at that period will be quite long considering its construction at that time. Maybe they could make guns reload just like that of a hunting rifle. I know that those type of rifles might have existed back at that time and they're called breech loaders.

EDIT: Okay, I think I got this wrong. Breech loaders during the 18th century don't reload like that of a modern hunting rifle. I went to look it up at Wikipedia and it told a different story. My apologies for my misleading information.

DesR85.. it think it would take long time to reload sins it will be like some of the first gun ever made.so 5 to 7 sec on reload.

I agree with what you said, MandalorianX, but there must be some way to reload the gun as fast as reloading a bow in Fable: TLC. Otherwise it might be kind of tedious to use a gun if the reload speed is slow.

yeah well you use a little time to get some power in the attack of the bow...the gun can fire at once you have reloaded.

vell it would be cool if you had a bag(free) of pouder(dont know how to spell the word hope you under stand it) that you use to the gun and the putt a bulit in the gun...just my idea for reloading

I wouldnt comment on guns in Fable 2 before I have seen it and all but if I have to I think its a nice innovation IF its balanced and since its old class guns and follows the timeline, its ok. Though I wouldnt mind bows and crossbows coming back in the game, bows is just as great weapon. And even have longer range than powder guns

I think that's the method for reloading a gun back in those days where you put in some gunpowder at the top of the gun's barrel and then the bullet is inserted into the barrel afterwards. Later, you have to push the bullet all the way to the bottom end of the barrel with some long iron rod and you're ready to fire after that.

Erm, logically speaking, aren't guns supposed to have longer range than a bow and arrow? I wonder if iron sights exists back then?

EDIT: Correcting typing mistakes. Just one question. Where is everyone? Feels kind of lonely here.
