Cheap Tricks With Invisibility

Here are a number of ways to abuse the coolest spell in the game, Invisibility! (Will probably also work with Greater Invisibility, but never tried it)

- Go exploring!
Before "starting" a level, cast invisibility on your rogue and send it exploring. S/He can even open doors, pickup treasure, and carry a torch without the NPC's even batting an eyelash. Be careful in the vampire level in Act 1 though, my rogue ended up trapped in a room full of vampires when one of the NPC's blocked the exit. I had to send two more invisible character to help extract her!

- Keep your asthmatic geek of a Wizard/Sorcerer/Cleric alive!
Make them invisible and your Constitution and/or armor-deficient characters will survive while still retaining most of their usefulness. Summoning (as long as its done on an empty space), curing, and stat-up effects do NOT break invisibility. I usually have my invisible cleric running back and forth during battle, summoning monsters, casting Guidance, and curing people.

- Make Ninja Mages!
Here are two spells that'll make your Cleric/Wizard/Sorcerer into invisible killing (Ninja) machines :
1) Turn Undead:
An invisible cleric can cast this as many times as they want, without breaking invisibility (never tried it on a Paladin but probably works as well).
2) Lightning Bolt:
Normally speaking, Lightning Bolt will break invisibility, but if you cast it on an empty square, characters in-between the caster and the square get damaged WITHOUT breaking invisibility. I almost killed the vampire lord in Act 1 this way while the rest of my party was chillin' in one of the treasure rooms, (one more hit would have killed him, stupid story line...)

Hope at least some people find this helpful!
Well, thats all I've found so far, but I just started Act 2 so hopefully I find more useful tips (Man that Nine Eyes Rising adventure was a pain. Level 9 recommended my butt. If it hadn't been for loading my Psionic Warrior with Meta-Weapon, Offensive Precognition, Inertial Armor, and casting Haste and Blink on her [while all my other character where invisible of course, they just kept missing and getting damaged too much to be useful] I would never have made it through the later half of that adventure)

Comments/Suggestions/Additional Abuses of Invisibility are more than welcome! ^_^

Hail thezeusjuice!

I also had some fun toying with Invisability in the game. When you obtain the spell haste, it only gets better as you can zip ahead and through the level in no time, collecting all treasures so you don't have to worry to while fighting (even better to do so because in most quests when you defeat the last monster the level automatically ends; thus ruining your chance to explore and open remaining chests).

Although if one just wants to see the map, they can cast Wiz/Sorc spell Clairvoyance or the Druid/Ranger spell: Commune With Nature. This will remove the Fog or War and you will get to see all non-invisible enemies.

Oh, also, be sure to cast See Invisibility on your Invisibility guy so you can see all the hidden enemies (well you can also tell where an enemy is by their surrounding yellow squares).

So yea, happy scouting and treasure chest opening :-) And you'll love the Invisibility, Mass lvl 7th Wiz/Sorc spell later on!
