not sure, I'm new to D & D, but since I loved Asheron's Call, Asheron's Call Dark Majesty, & Asheron's Call 2. I know I will love this game in time when I learn it.

Atari's BetaTest.net reveals that the beta testing service may soon feature a pre-alpha version of Dungeons and Dragons Online. The first version to the site will be primarily for the media and select participants, but a broader version is planned to land on the testing service in the future, so testers shouldn't feel too upset about it. Just played a demo of D&D the Game and I think it's a great game, wish I had the cash to buy the actual game, but I'm always broke between marvel and baseball cards, wish I had saved the money there and spent it on Magic the Gathering or D & D.

I'd say that we are still quite a ways out from any type of public Beta. Currently, Turbine is stress testing the combat model, and that is being done by "SELECT" invitation only.

And further more, that the combat play test is being done before they finish hashing out the character generator and other social and party/group systems. So it looks to be quite a ways off.

FYI. The October PCGamer is a "D&D 30th Anniversary" collector's issue. It's got some good coverage and is the source for the abouv paraphrased info.

Nice to know. Thanks for all the info Dirk you seem to be watching this close Hope to see you in the game when it comes out. Would love to Beta this. Is time for a new game and I miss PNP AD&D.
