What is a good module for a starting D&D group?

I am going to DM with a group of 4 people, and we're starting D&D from scratch.
We are looking for a module for us to start with, I'm hoping someone overhere as an idea.

A good module, like a good adventure?

"The Red Hand of Doom" or "Scourge of the Howling Hordes" are good adventures. Not the best by far, but decent and easy to use adventures. Borders or Barne's and Noble's should easily have both.

Play D&D online, 3rd edition, 4th edition, or any pen and paper game.

You might try the new Paizo publishing Pathfinder. You can get it from paizo.com - Paizo Publishing or from most hobby/magazine stores.

Characters

For an adventure, I don't know, I just started off using my own adventures. This is easy to do if you have the DMG and MM, and if you don't, hit the library.
Class wise, you might want them to have a Rogue, a Fighter or Barbarian, a Wizard, Sorcerer, or Druid, and a Cleric. A Cleric is a must. Otherwise all of their money will go towards healing.(at temples or potions) I learned that the hard way! If they don't get a cleric, give them and NPC to heal them. And point out that a cleric is still a good fighter-type character.
