multi-classing questions

Hey All,

I'm a little confused. I just started playing DnD and there is a lot to take in. What I'm curious is that I have a 7th level Paladin, (started at a heightened level to be within some range of the rest of the group) and I really want to multi-class as a cleric. I know I can either just take a level and never advance as paladin again, or I can use Knight Training from the Eberron Campain setting to pick cleric as a class I can multi-class in freely... but I'm hesitating for one reason:

Do divine spells stack? And if so, do the bonus spells I get from wisdom stack?

For example, I have 1 spell as a paladin, and 1 bonus spell as a paladin from high wisdom (both 1st level spells.), if I take a level as a cleric, I will have 3x 0 level spells, and then... what? Do I get 1, +1 domain, and then +1 bonus spell for cleric AND keep my 2 spells from paladin, for a total of 3 level 0 spells and 5 level 1 spells? Or.. what? I'm a little confused on how that would work.

No, Paladin's and Clerics get there own spell list. A general guideline about what stacks in D&D, Dodge and Unnamed bonuses are the ONLY things in the game that will ever stack.

I think I worded this somewhat wrong, although that helps a bit.

So I would have 3 level 0 cleric spells and 1 level 1 cleric spell, plus 1 domain spell

Then I would also have 1 paladin spell.

But my question is with the wisdom bonus spell of +1 1 level spell, would I get a bonus spell to both my paladin and cleric spell lists, or would I need to pick it to apply to only one spell list?

The way I'm reading is that with my wisdom (14), I should have, as a level 7 paladin/1 cleric:

2 paladin 1st level spells (1 normal, 1 from wisdom)
3 0 level spells, 3 1st level cleric spells (1 normal, 1 domain, 1 bonus from wisdom)

Is that right?

Ahh, yeah, you would get bonus spells from high wisdom to each spellcasting class. Like I said with unnamed bonuses, it's not a Compensation or enhancement bonus, it's just a bonus to spells per day.

Unless you plan on going into warpriest though, the Paladin/cleric combination is rather pointless and severely limits your capability of casting divine spells (in terms of getting more powerful spells later in the game).

Well, I'm trying to be more of a supportive role now in the group, so.. I don't know. Also, is warpriest a prestige class or something?

Yeah, it's in complete Divine. Concentrates on buffs and healing for your party instead of just general spells for all around, not to mention a high base attack bonus so you stay well and alive.

Their endclass ability is actually really cool, it's an aura of die hard that allows people to continue fighting until -20 hit points (no, not a typo, beyond -10).

If you ever pick up that book, definitely give that class a look through for your character, might work out really well.
