| | | Infravision vs invisibility Does infravision make invisible creatures visible?
In the 2ed ed Book of the elves it says it does but I can't find anything about it in 3(.5).

| | | That's because in 3rd ed Infravision was replaced by either Low Light Vision or Darkvison. I think it still doesn't made invisible creature visible but you should check the rulling for Low Light and Darkvision to be sure. |

| | | Infravision doesn't exist any more. Drak- and low-light vision don't reveal invisible creatures.

| | | We're thinking about house ruling it back.
Mainy because of adding a bit of feeling to it.

| | | You're asking us what 3.5 has to say about an upcoming houserule from your games???
Go away.

| | | I'm asking if there is any rule that covers this aspect before I come up with my own.
Infravision was a spell in 2ed ed, perhaps there is a 3.5 version of this spell that I don't know of.

| | | The old invisibility rule assumed that the spell actually did something with the light to make the target invisible, like a chameleon effect or something. The new one IMO is better in that it fools the ming into "ommitting" the target from what we perceive as visible.

| | | The 'new' one is an illusion, so allows a will save if interacted with. Take that as you will.

| | | Exactly, which means it has nothing to do with vision and everything to do perception and belief.

| | | Good point.
Re-implementing it for, say the Drow, sounds interesting. It should be guarded from overpowerment though as it negates a powerfull spell.

| | | You could rule that invisibility affects ocular detection via infrared means as well. And then you could get really fancy where the invisible person is still somewhat detectable through the residual heat they leave in the air or on things they touch.
