humanoid/outsider native vs. polymorph/transmutation

A player in my group recently had his type changed to humanoid/outsider native. He claims that he is now immune to polymorph and since he is immune to polymorph, he is immune to transmutation spells... like disintigrate and flesh to stone. I think he is full of it.

I've looked in the monster manual until the outsider native subtype and I find nothing even stating that they get immunity to polymorph, let alone the entire SCHOOL of transmutation. I found this on 312 of the MM.

Is he right? If so, where can I find the rules proving he is right. If I'm right, can you show me where the rules are saying that I'm right?

Well, being immune to polymorph does not give you immunity to transmutation effects period. However, he may have a prestige class that actually states he is immune to transmutation effects. Master of Many Forms, the prestige class from Complete Adventurer is such an example. Even though the class focuses entirely around shapeshifting, you gain immunity to "transmutation" as stated by the 10th level ability.

So if it's a PrC, you might want to check this. Otherwise, he is not immune to disentegration.

Like you said, as long as it's based on his type, it doesn't make him immune to it. MM pp. 312-313.
