I think the enlarge spell is perhaps the singlemost versatile spell in the book.
Don't enlarge the orc, just enlarge the door so it jams and can't be opened.
Enlarge an enemy fighter's belt. Or his boots. (-4 Dex?) Or his helm.
Enlarge your enemy's bowstring.
Enlarge your gold! Woohoo!

Our group found a mysterious, silver pool of an unknown substance. So, as everyone was puzzling over what it was, our Elven ranger drank from it. Remember T100 from Terminator 2? Yeah.
