i saw someone mentionning the book Unearted Arcana, so i guess you people are familiar with the gestalt variant. I was wondering what do you think of it.

Meh. If you want to improve the power level of your game, this will help.

And it is downright stupid that a monk/commoner gestalt has the highest saves

I've read through Unearthed Arcana 3.5 and so far I am not impressed. It really seems to be a tweak-book, and is more favour than crunch.

That said, if you want to use it, go ahead. Note that it will up the power level, and some of the rules will overbalance the game.
