You mentioned you were 3rd ed.... how do you get around the whole map thing when playing in chat rooms or online? I'm currently seeking a way to play long-distance, but we keep getting hung up on the need for a map for 3.0 or 3.5 to work properly... Does anyone know any good programs that would work?

I wouldn't mind running such a game. Assuming we'd just be using chat, the emphasis would be on the actual roleplaying; there'd be combat, but it'd be rp'd to a large extent.
If I were to DM a chat group it'd either use the Forgotten Realms or my own setting, player's choice. And I don't mind 3.5 or 4ed although my own setting doesn't really work with 4ed.
Although I live in New Zealand, I am available almost any time except three hours when I go to the gym so I don't get fat. Thus whatever time and frequency any players agree upon is probably fine with me.
A campaign in my own setting can function with a minimum of three characters and can nicely accommodate up to five, although more characters could be included if necessary it may clutter sessions. A Forgotten Realms Campaign would be set at only four or five, no more or less.
In my own world, characters would have near complete autonomy, although there would be a restriction that there can be no double-ups of the non-human races for reasons I'll not explain at the moment. In my setting, players would have complete freedom of classes, including the non-PHB classes. Prestige classes would have no restriction either except that most campaign specific PrC's would be unavailable and a character may only have one ten level PrC (five level ones and the like are okay to have multiple of). If FR were used, classes would be somewhat restricted in that the four roles would have to be filled but otherwise the same as with my own setting.
As for how adventuring would work, in my own setting, everything is more like an unfolding story, the characters are adventuring with a goal they are aiming for, but they are under no obligation to reach said goal and could decide the want to establish themselves in the land instead of reaching their potential (though they would likely have to face their goal eventually as the world around them starts to go to pot). In an FR campaign, characters would be more plot driven, everything coming in installments where to get to the next thing they must finish the current thing. I suppose you could say the FR game would be like Fable and using my own setting would play like Oblivion (from a purely gameplay perspective, everyone knows Oblivion owns everything XD).
Is that all the important information? Oh, it would of course be a good aligned campaign, last time I ran an evil campaign they destroyed my beautifully crafted and highly detailed setting, just ripped it to pieces! Tore my heart out. If anyone wants to know anything then feel free to ask, of course.

Well, I can DM and have no problem with the number of people, i just dont have AIM. So, I have no problem what so ever in doing so. Just let me know ahead of time so that I can set the world up and have something ready for everyone.

@ni.ck & Demortis
The game could always be set up in the Forum Member RPG's board here on gamebanshee.

I might be willing. But for now my suggestion is you set it up in the forum, rather than here as it's sort of off topic here.

I'm game for anything, heck I'd even play 2ed if I had to. Though 4ed isn't too difficult to learn, they designed it for people who'd never played the game before so anyone who -has- played previous editions should find it simple to learn. Buying all the books can cost a bit though.

There are several programs online that help you deal with an action grid.

And this is my Google search. I'm not sure wether there's something useful, since I never played D&D via the internet. I'm going off what I read around various fora.
