Skill point bug?

I currently play on elite and added one more character to my party. This character was lower level than the others so I decided to boost its experience. I send most of my characters into the inn and added some pets to my party. After the exp. boosting operation (which was not very efficient somehow) I send the pets into the inn and added the original characters to my party.

Then I noticed that the characters who waited in the inn now had much less skill points in their skill trees than before sending them into the inn. I think the skill points earned from the quests disappeared. Anyone knows for sure??

Game dropped my characters skills about to half and I pissed off and exited the game. But when I started playing again later the missing skill points had returned. Anyone else noticed this?

By the way... how does exp. sharing work if one of the characters are much lower level than other characters or more than five levels below the monster level??
