experience sharing?

Hi. I'm curious, if i played with 2 characters only, do i level up more quickly than if i played with 4 characters?.. Is there some sort of experience sharing when killing the creeps? Also, if i met with new characters that can be hired as the game proceeds, do they keep track to my levels? Tq.

My understanding is that no matter how many companions you have, you'll gain character levels at about the same rate. I'm not sure what happens with skill levels, but I'd guess the fewer companions you have, the higher you'll get your skills.

Companions jump up to your level when you add them to your party the first time, and then they gain experience at the same rate as you while they're in your party.

In my opinion, gainig skills goes the same as gaining levels. I realized this, when my unconsiocius character gained a combat magic level.
