Dragone gone?

Hi all

I've finished merc mode *spoiler* and I'm on Snowbrook haven where u have to kill Talon with the ballista in veteran mode. Talon is nowhere to be seen! From the time I go up the elevator to killing the mordens near the ballista, talon didn't show his face once!

Weird thing is, just before you enter the little area with the Ballista, there should be a cutscene showing Talon bursting a firreball and blasts rocks, but all i see is a ball of fire and exploiding rock, no Talon!

I tried installing the patch 2.2 but no luck. Anybody got any tips?

Thanks a bunch

Just to be clear, did you defeat the Brall and meet the commander at the north gate first? It sounds like the game doesn't think you should be killing the dragon yet.

Yes, I killed the rock throwing Bralls and and reported back to the commander at the gate. I killled the mordens that came throught there also and I got the dragon slaying quest from the commander. When I got up to the tower with the basllista thats when it happened.

Any tips?

Exclamation Same Problem

I have the same problem! Killed the rock dudes, spoke to the commander and now NO dragon! The ballista shows with a gold star and I can fire it and move the wheels but there is no dragon to be found even though the commander stills tells me that there is!

Well I experienced this bug several times, always in version 2.0 however.
The solution is to reload the game, teleport to the closest point, then head back to the dragon.
The goal is to initiate the proper cut scene. I did that several times, in merc, vet and elite modes and it always eventually worked.
Hope this may help you.

PS: I forgot to mention, don't escape the cut scene

Exclamation Patch 2.2 does not take ... is there a solution?

I patched my game v2.0 to v2.2 and nothing happens, nadda, zippo, zilch. The last thing I want to do is to uninstall the game and re-install it and add the patch only to find out it still does not take the patch. My characters are level 13 and I would like to move on. There are a lot of fixes in the patch's Read Me file.

I would definitely appreciate it if the people at Microsoft Game Studios and Gas Powered Games would get off their collective butts and let us Gamer's know what is happening and how to fix it. I haven't found anything on the forum that comes close to an answer. I did find a link but it was the link that brought me to this thread.

This problem seems to have existed since at least:

11-11-2005 12:21 PM

when "wacky" started this thread.

I would also like to see the people of GameBanshee do what they can to find out what the problem is.

Unhappy to say the least and not very patiently waiting.

Todays date is December 21, 2005 so it has been about 40 days and I can find no solution for patch 2.2.

I really don't want to start the game all over. I wonder if the marketing of this game and others could be construed as deliberate corporate fraud.

I wouldn't be holding my breath for a new patch. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no more DS2 patches released. Personally I'd just bite the bullet, uninstall then reinstall everything, install the 2.2 patch and start a new game. I find it odd that you're at the end of ACT II and only level 13 it seems a bit low since I think I beat the game the first time at level 30 something, but I could be wrong.

You can always try the GPG forums and ask questions there... might be worth a try.

Arrow a little misunderstanding..........

Hi gid, thanks for the response.

I don't want to get to far into the game and then get hung up because I can't complete a needed quest. I was level 13 at the time but nowhere done doing all the quests and side-guests in Act 1. I am currently level 20 and just about done with Act 1. My three characters are all at the same level plus or minus 1. I have alot of hours in the game already and I would hate to get hung up because patch 2.2 will not take.

I was level 43 when I got to the Horn and fighting the last wizard, but I definately had to un-install after downloading the update 2.2 and re-start the game at the beginning. That advice came from Microsoft tech team. Thank goodness I was only level 12 when it happened. I bumped my stats by not using the teleporters very often, so ran into a lot of enemies that re-appeared. Everything worked well after update.

Question The Horn and Last Wizard??

Hi Old-droid,

Just checking to be sure if I understand your post correctly. Your character was L43 and fighting the Last Wizard and you had to uninstall 'patch 2.2' because of problems with the patch and start over without it???

I am still running the original 2.0 retail version and will need to talk with the MS Tech Team if I need the patch because it will not take.

Thanks for your help!

DS2 patch checks for your exe file size befor it applys the patch, if it dosnt match then the patch will not continue (it might look like its running the patch but alls its doing is unpacking befor it installs it).
