crash / reboot every 20 minutes or so

dungeon siege 2 had been crashing every 20 minutes or so. it's fairly unplayable. I bought the deluxe edition and haven't installed broken world expansion. i've updated to the latest version 2.2 or something... still makes my system reboot. it doens't just freeze, it just randomly reboots. This is a good system i'm running, plays quake 4, tribes vengence, no prob. can play all day at max resolutions smoothly. what i have is:
athlon 64 x2 dual core 5200+ 2.6ghz processor
2gb x1 DDR2 G.Skill ram
Radeon x1650 PCIe 512mb video
320gb Seagate SATA hd
750w powertek power supply
silverstone timjin full atx case
20" samsung widescreen lcd

i've increased the virtual memory to 7gb-10gb and it still crashes just as often. perhaps i'll try changing video card settings... it worked for pod racer, but that was an older game. i thought all of this should be compatable AND a little bit of over kill.

any ideas, players?

very impressive system you have. congrats on that.. as for ds2 rebooting it probably some of the game settings.

anyways i am confused why you need 7gb-10gb virtual memory. with 2gb ram ya should let windows manage the virtual memory. make the computer use the 2gb ram before it uses the harddrive for the memory. Also ya may want to try different video resolutions 1280x1024 etc. if ya use the highest settings in DS2 ya may want to lower them to medium or whatever and test it that way. Other than that without knowing what settings you are using i have no idea what you should change.

I'm not sure which version of the game comes with the deluxe edition. Have you tried playing without the patch?
