Can someone please clarify BW for me?

Hello,

I have a copy of DS2 Deluxe coming the in the mail any day now and I'm a bit confused about the BW expansion. Will I have to play through the non-expansion portion of the game at least once to be able to get access to the new BW content in the original story line? Does that make sense? I've read that you can import your a character from your preBW game once you upgrade but if you start from the beginning with BW available to you, are all the new features available from the beginning?

I'm not really impressed with the mercenary/veteran/elite scheme they have set up, I sort of like to make those choices for myself when I play but I really loved the demo so I can put up with the restrictions. The 'saved game' system they chose to use seems little weird to me too but I'll just have to deal with it. =)

I'm pretty excited about getting started when my game arrives. I love this site and all the tons of info available.

Thanks.

I'm not sure all that you're asking, but BW comes with some pre-generated characters, and you can use them to jump right into BW without playing the original campaign. You can also start with the original campaign and use the new classes there.

You said it much clearer then I did. I was trying to figure out if I could get started right away on the original campaign w/ all the BW additives like the extra race or if I had to "unlock" the BW stuff like I'll have to unlock Veteran and Elite mode.

Thanks
