Pit of despair

What's in this giant maze?

And I got to admit, this is the first nonlinear bit I've encoutered in DS so far.

I've played through the single player. And it was linear. Fun, mindless, enterainment. The multiplayer was looking the same till I hit the swamp town where you can go three directions.

Goblin, Forest Klaw, or Pit of Despair. I took 5 minutes and went into the Pit. No monsters, but just a giant dark maze.

Is it worth mapping out?

not for what you find, but you could do it just to have "done it" so to speak.

the loot in there is nothing special

Then u went to fast out of the first town!
Already there you will find 4 different directions.
In the next town (Crystwind) you will find 3 directions. Try to look a little harder.

So how do you open the door that wants 3 foes?
I can only find 1 skull, which the door took....

Does any one know what I'm talking about?

Its dark and lonely in this pit.

Check out flechette's walkthrough for the Pit of Despair. Also some pointers to tips here:

Pit of Dispair

The pit has 3 unique chests inside and the key. I found a Zahrisk Slicer in one chest, has 4785 in average hit points. Even though I play the pit every game it is hard because you can't see.

There are 6 paths from the beginning elavator. four like an H ib its side and two like an upside down L. The upper right of the laying down H goes to two skulls the paths can be seen when your standing in fromt of them. The first chest is down the Upper Left leg of the laiying down H. The final skull is down the lower left leg of the H 180 degrees from the direction walk down the stairs. This is also the way to the exit door to the path maze.

The path maze is indescribable. I just work at it until I have the key. The two remaining chests are near the exit elevator.

You may or may not get anything good from the pit.
