| | | Damned packmules !!! I have 2 packmules that keep getting killed when I go to battle. I have tried to make them stay put while I march off with my warriors, but they follow me anyway. I have highlighted all my warriors and left the packmules un-highlighted and advanced my men/women, but the mules still follow me. I have clicked on the mules and checked "Hold Ground" in the battle formation thingee in the lower right hand corner, but they still follow me. Does anyone know how to get those asses to leave their asses where I put them? Thanks ... pormike |

| | | mules A couple of things you can do are 1) Highlight the mules and press enter then type 'zool' then enter a second time. Your mules can't be hurt. 2) Download Kanes spells mod and use the wind of life spell to keep all party members alive in all but the worst situations.
A third way is to down load a mod to have a larger backpack and forget about mules. |

| | | Aye, larger backpack is the way to go. Packmules are a pain in the arse.

| | | It's quite simple. Look where to the formation is. Make sure the three circles don't point to the one circle.. that's follow mode. make sure follow mode is off and the pack animals will never follow you. Just have the rest of you're party highlighted and move them as a group. when you're safe from fighting turn on follow mode and move forward a bit, your pack mule will come running up. |

| | | I got this game recently and I am on my 4th restart I think. This time through I said screw the packmules. I kept my party to 4 until I picked up Merick just now and now I'm at 5 (Instead of getting 8 as soon as possible). I couldn't be happier. I drop most of my stuff. All I keep is what I am using or can use in the near future. Mostly one or two stat points in the future. Eatch party member carries what their going to use and when they level I equip the new item and pick up new stuff.
What upset me at first turned into a blessing though. I have yet to find the transmute spell. I saved all that time not turning pitchforks and blunt daggers into 1 gold. Now that I'm finding items worth several 1000 gp though I'd like to get the spell soon.
Err yeah got sidetracked. Anyways, Drop the packmules they're an expensive liability. Don't download a mod for bigger backpacks becasue thats jsut cheap unless you've beaten the game without a mod. Just my 2 cents. For the LoA mod though I hear you get pack animals that can actually put up a decent fight so we'll see when I get to it. (Woot! First post!) |

| | | I would buy mules, cause if they die, you can spell them...
and they´re a good "animal-sheald".
and the "not-follow-butten" works very well! |

| | I quite like the packmules, they add more depth to the game. Okay, they are a liability, get ambushed from two sides and the mules are bound to get hit.
At least they don't just stand still and take the damage . |

| | | I never use packmule's... it costs to much time to resurrect or revive them again and again... 8 party members can hold enough, and when my iv is full, i just see shops at the horizon. I played ds and ds LoA 2 times without any kind of cheats, 1 time without packmule's and 1 time with 2 in my party. And i found out that the game is alot easyer without those darn mule's... |

| | I haven't had that many problems with the mules. Recently I was ambushed from two sides on a bridge and the mules had nowhere to retreat to and that was nasty. I think I had to raise one once. But otherwise into chapter 7 with two mules, able to carry more rubbish and no real problems . |

| | | You can use transmute, or run between where you are, and a store. I prefer at least on pack mule, to pick up stuff good enough to sell.
