WHO sends me to become warlock??

i have long surpassed the reqirements for Warlock but can't get anyone to give me the quest for the mages in vale of ruin - anyone know why? or who gives it? TIA

Try talking to Aliester in Fargrove.

i did - the quest is not there or in my quest log but i remember doing the deed - i gave the idol to duul and i guess i'll go to the vale (i spoke to grymlok already) and look for the wizard where the guide sez to & we'll see thanks centurion
i just hope this quest is not broken my last save game before the death idol secured was back at lvl11 (before trial of elders) i am lvl 23 now

Your 1st tier is Mage. You have Battlemage for 2nd tier ?

i am a battlemage now and have been for a while next tier is warlock right? my main concern is going to vale of ruin and advancing to WHATEVER the next tier is but the "L" button does not show the next quest for mages damn buggggggggy game!
if i did not love it so much it would not bother me i guess thx for any help

The only thing I can suggest is go back to aliester and
go through all the dialogue options again. Maybe you missed something.

i went back to the area where i took the death idol, no-one home there.
i went to aleister and again went thru options, no new quest.
i am in vale of (their) ruin and went to both mage quest areas, no-one home but 2 drakes (now dedddd) and assorted beasties, no bosses to fight, with no quest-log entry i guess that means they are NOT there, maybe after i leave the vale i will go back and talk to duul and aleister to see if i can trigger quest again - damn buggy game is all i have to say - again thanks for your sincere efforts to help, but i am on my own here with version 1.3 DL i hope the patch fixes it...consarn it i really want to go beyond battlemage but i noticed there is no slot on my "C" menu for another tier, only thing left is grayed out Lord square which i will fill after the "General" bites the dust!!!!!!!!

Now I understand....

Your first slot has the fighter symbol.
Your second slot has the mage symbol.
Given this, becoming a warlock was never an option.
The 1st, 3rd and 5th slots are for your primary class.
The 2nd and 4th slots are for your secondary class.

2nd: fighter
3rd: knight
4th: battlemage
5th: lord...so u r saying no more promotions & that is why it is not offered?
no more slots so i just use exp points from here out i guess

Correct. First 2 slots are for class 1 icons, second 2 slots are for class 2 icons, and the last slot is for 1 third class icon. Can't have anymore than that.
