Using arcane and releasing it

I am at the Shadow Ruins and don't want to enter until I have all my ducks lined up.....grin. I have had to use the Arcane fireballs to kill the haunted ghost and when I invoke them and use them......how do I get back to normal or do I have to use them all up and drop the whole thing ? ? ? I have searched and researched and cannot find the directions to use this magic.....any help will be appreciated.......thanks

Well I finally figured out what my problem was.........not thinking ........The little window at the bottom right of the game screen that tells you what Arcane magic is active and how many you have left.....is just another weapon.......so.......just use the Q key to change weapons.....and.....Viola...the little screen goes away........Smile...Grimace

Actually, the default key to switch from weapons to magic is F.
