Trying to leave fargrove

So far i have gotten the horn and talked to the king and gave him the letter, and he says go find my daughter or something close to it, i try exiting out of the west gates and i still cant! what am i forgetting? or is this a another darn glitch?

He tells you to talk to the chambermaid. Did you do that?

is the chambermaid at the top of the castle, that tells you about his daughter running away?

It sounds like you've done everything you were supposed to do in town. Did you try talking to the gate guards? Are you using version 1.3?
