Trying to figure out this games Class system.

Hello guys I just picked up this game recently and I'm trying to understand how this crazy class system works. I downloaded the Character Planner and that has helped some but I'm still left with some unaswered questions I thought maybe someone here could help me understand.

Does this game have a max level? and in turn is there a max amount of skill points you can spend in the game?

for example I want to become a monk/shaolei master mainly and the planner shows me what skill points are required for these things to happen but am i gonna have enough left over points to take some other things like armor skills and trap/lock skills and such and still be able to become a monk/shaolei?

do you have to take a 2nd first tier class and a 2nd two tier class? or could i just spend these points randomly how i see fit? or would it gimp me in the end if I didn't take the other two classes?

example would be my only other two choices for an additional 2nd tier class are Knight and Marauder because of my main choices and the skills required for either one of these two don't really benefit the monk/shaolei type char I'm making. Unless I'm missing something like bonuses or something that would benefit the kung fu type dude i want to make.

Sorry about asking all these questions i'm just trying to understand how this whole class system works before i get started on a char and end up something I dont want to be and have to start all over again. Geesh it gets complex. or maybe i'm just thinking about it to deeply I tend to do that sometimes on rpgs.

Thanks in advance,
Zargo

No and no.

You only have to select one class during character creation. All the other classes are optional. But classes give you new skills and learning bonuses, so it would hurt your character not to have a full complement of classes.

thanks swcarter that was head on what i was looking for cleared that up very nicely.
btw this game seems to be becoming more and more addicting to me and I'm enjoying it quite much. it has an old school rpg feeling to it that most new rpgs seem to be missing. I do believe they could have spent some more time working out glitches and it would have ran a lot more smoothly but it's still very enjoyable just the same.
