problem with hex editing

Hi,
I tried to learn hex editing but I failed to understand anything.One of the members wrote some four lettered hex word but actually in hex editors there are 8 letters.So does 9A00 mean 00009A00? Actually i want to get the demon key to kill the fiend of gazubu.Im finding problem in replacing the hex word like from 00009A00 to 00003B01(not sure whether its correct).

I don't know what editor you are using but 9A00 is hex. "9A 00" is how it should show up using HEdit which you can download from my site.
Once you have that installed you can follow my directions in post #11 and post #3 of
this thread.

I have seen a couple of your post about Hex Editing and wanted to ask a question.
How difficult would it be to make a save game editor, one of the better ones I have seen/used is KotOR 1 & 2 Save Game Editor (maybe the most popular file in the KotOR games which is saying a heck of a lot

).

I was thinking with all the prolbems and bugs of this game if there was a very good Save Editor which could add any equipment or skill, maybe ablity to reset(fixing?) quest list.

Maybe this would be to big a project but it seems like something that could change ALOT of the negitive image/problems in DL.

The only one I know of that has most of the features you want is from RWGames.com

It's basically a character editor, yes you can add skill you don't have (except diabolic)
You can edit money, exp, stats, and your location (although tricky.)
There are even some preset locations.

That's one great advantage of hex editing a DL save. Any character/class can be given all diabolic skills. The game engine just doesn't care.

Bungbo sent you an email with his final for the installer. When are you going to post it?

Is their a thread about this some instruction or a link?
I have Hex Edit but am not very expericeced, I could not do it on my own but could do it with a little guide.
