Problem getting to Demon Realm

I went through the Irynthablmaze and Irynthablsanctum successfully. Released Ellowyn and was teleported to Talendor successfully. Fought Barrowgrim and his herd of soldiers and trolls with no problems. went into the Chamber of spirits to deposit the ring, but when I deposited the ring nothing happened except the doors closed and locked on me. No Galdryn. No Volgar. Just locked in. I did a search through the forums and did not find anything that seemed to address my problem. Any tips from anyone would be appreciated.

Yes I did save in another slot before I went in. I also have a third save just before the Irynthabl Sanctum. I also tried each pedestal again, even thought the other relics were already there. But thanks for trying to help.

I've never heard of this bug before. Did you try loading your game and placing the ring again? Also, what version are you using?

Yes, I did reload the game, 3 or 4 times. I even played the 3rd save again through to the Chamber of Spirits with the same results. I had played another character all the way through with no problems. Is it possible that may have something to do with it? They are still saved on the game. I'm using version 1.3.

Well, you could try the fan-made 1.4 patch, and see if that does anything for you. Also, from your Shadow Ruins thread, it sounds like you've done some hex editing to your saved game files. If you've done that a lot, perhaps that has botched something in your game.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I did do a little hex editing with both characters. Mainly to get the Demon Key for them. The Shadow Ruins thread I posted, was for the character that I was able to finish with. For this current problem the character was edited only for the Demon Key. And I had traded out a spare dragon egg for it.

If I'm unable to fix this current problem, It's no big deal. I've learned a lot playing these two characters, about how to handle future games. So I can be happy that I got it as far as I did with him.

This character is the one I initially created when I first started playing the game back in Sep 05. He had gotten killed a lot early in the game, and I had just about given up on it until I reallized I needed to keep a VERY close eye on my red lifeline, (thanks to my playing with my other character). Also, I learned not to throw away the advancement points whenever he did get killed, by hitting "R" as soon as he hit the ground, and use them before I hit "R". So, with much patience, I was able to salvage him. It's just regrettable that I'm unable to complete the final quest right now. But there will be more games in the future. Just not too soon. It is very time consuming.
