| | | The critters love us Thanks War-Wiz, obviously your Ed is a popular guy with everyone lining up to get his autograph.
I've got a shot of a strategy to use to finish a certain quest room (needs a bit of cash though to afford the required number of spells!) and another shot which shows just how inhumane the developers of this game really are - wouldn't be surprised if this resulted in a law suit. (BTW how is this forum on irony and such?)
I've also got a shot of my apartment balcony in Fargrove - a place to hang while the plebs adulate. Like you War-Wiz I have a hoard of fans waiting for me to make an appearance - except in mine they are just little red dots on the map. While my apartment is quite secluded I still have a problem with bats and some sort of gay pride flying stunt woman - however she didn't get in this shot. Okay, I guess I should put in a pic of her too ...
One of the things I have learned from this encounter about game design is to have a very disturbed past - or parents that chose very unusual clothes for you to wear as a child.
(Sorry if anyone feels offended, I'm socially challenged and tact deprivated!
But if it makes me laugh I find it hard to give a damn, I mean I struggle but ... I must be morally bankrupt too I guess.
(It always amazes me how some people can get offended - especially if you do the truth!)
But if anyone wants to order a kinky pink top and snug little leather pants, I know someone who can run you up a set - however it doesn't come with wings or a crane.
Well I think I'd better go now ...

| | | My first before computers was probably worse. Hi joebob,
I can guarantee that my first attempt at writing was probably worse because I didn't have any images that I could use to base my story on. I have found that over the years we become better at it. Great novelists have had the same problem and the best way to beat it is to use your imagination and have a picture and a thread from a game will make it easier for you.
I started this thread what seems like a long time ago and based my story from the point of view as a hero reporting on the death of a fictitious journalist for guild in the storyline who got careless and got himself killed. He almost got the hero killed in the process.
Since you are writing a story even though a short one you can turn events into anything you want that will support and be supported by the picture you provide. The theme of the story can even be of your hero's unfortunate death in the game of course making the monsters bigger and badder and your hero fighting the courageous fight (his death due to some mistake you made but don't tell). The story can be funny, sad or simply outrageous because it is your story.
When I started this thread I had two purposes in mind. The first was to show other members screenshots I liked. The second was to add a little story to go with the screenshot. I wanted to make the thread fun and to see how inventive other members could be.
Here is a link to my first story on the forum and notice it wasn't my first post in the thread. The thought for "BREAKING NEWS: DL Reporter killed on the job!" didn't come to me until after I had the screenshot I posted with it.

Keep on trying and themes from anything are fair game. Kel

| | Screen Shot Thread Since the last screen shot thread is over a half year old I don't think I'm supposed to "resurrect" it, so let's start a new one. I'll start us off with a real jewel of a screenshot - the idea I got from this age-old thread: http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/du...ien-67071.html
By the way, he was silent for me, in case you'd ask.

| | Thanks swcarter for clearing that up, I had thought that posting in that age-old thread would be considered breaking the rules.
Now I have an even better screenshot: I managed to find a way to push Elder Kyusho out of his platform so he fell to the ground, and he'd better get ready for some Wylvan Rage! Let's see whether anyone else can figure it out - I didn't just mod his coordinates, neither did I cheat in any way, just used the stuff I had available. The good thing is, Elder Kyusho won't teleport back up unless you jump to the ledge where he was pushed down, so you can just go toe-to-toe with him and whittle away his hit points a LOT faster than if you stand on the pillar next to his ledge. There's also a disadvantage to his strategy - he can hit you in melee more easily, but his elven sword doesn't do much damage and there are self-refilling celestial healing crystals to heal the damage he does without using up resources. By the way, I'm beginning to think that the name of my character fits well to what he does - it's German for "there will be 0wnage now".

| | Cool Screenshots! Hey everyone,
I don't know if there's a thread on here like this already, but I thought (since I finally learned how to take a screenshot) we could just post ones we thought were cool. Shots of all the excitement, haha. I'll get it started, please feel free to join!

| | | OK, last few Just thought I'd share a couple more from the end sequence, including Shaduroth. I found a way to keep the Shield of Retrobution with me throughout the end sequence (in otherwords, a way to keep Volgar from taking it from me). That was cool. Anyway, here's the last few.. |

| | | Wow, your climbing skills seem to be very good. Keeping the other relics is easy, all you have to do is to place the ring on the pentagram before placing the other relics and you'll be teleported to the endgame sequence. Theory: If you got the ring from Ellowyn but don't talk to Emmindor, can you go back to Talendor and "use" the ring on the pentagram to go to the endgame sequence? And if you do, does the game deactivate all moonbridges or can you still use them if you climb out of the demon realm? I'd try it myself but I don't have a suitable character to test it at the moment.

| | | At last! Finally I managed to wiggle my way out of the demon realm! Yes, it's true. Even although it's monumentally hard to do so, just keep trying and eventually you'll get it (previous posts in other threads stated it would be impossible to ever get out of the demon realm again). Now I just need to pull it off with a character who got to the demon realm without talking to Emmindor so I can see whether the moonbridges will get deactivated or not.
On a side note: "walking" down the huge vertical wall at the Demon Realm is completely safe and doesn't even scratch the character, but then I tried to "jump" down out of curiosity - BLAM, 184 HP and 11 Athletics insta-dead. So don't jump down if you try this.
Edit: added pictures to show the place where I climbed from three different angles. You can see the green dots on the radar indicating the positions of Galdryn and Shaduroth (I didn't kill them because I just wanted to test whether it's possible to get out of the demon realm at all).

| | | Hey, thanks for the info! You will have to tell if you can still use the moon bridges when you climb out. I think I have a pretty good idea where you were able to climb out, so I will have to try. Also, I didn't know that all you had to to was put the ring of power on the stand to keep the relics. And I thought I did something cool...haha. Anywya, I've been trying to climb the outside of the demon realm to get in early, but I can't seem to get past a certain point. I'll just have to keep trying! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
