Need some suggestion n answer with it. TQ

1. What class is the best to be an melee attacker?
Human the Fighter with Hatamoto & Paladin? or Crusader & Samurai? or any best suggestion?

2. The Angel (Heraldry)'s bonus is Protection From Death.
What's it mean? No penalty after death with press "R"? Or...?

3. The Magic skill such as Resist Magic, Resist Elemental, Resist Purification, Resist Poison , is belongs to which class?
I found it from here:
http://www.dungeonlordsgame.com/skillsmain5.php

TQ for ur help.

As far as resistances go, they aren't skills. That link made it seem as if they were but that is inaccurate. Different races have different resistances as part of their makeup. for example a Zaur (lizard) has a 25% resistance to poison but 0 to fire and ice. An elf has decent resistance to petrification but little to magic. You can see what your character's resistances are by opening your character sheet in game (pressing C) and holding the mouse over your character's portrait.

As far as best class for what you are talking about, that is purely subjective. For myself I would go with Samurai and then Crusader rather than Hatamoto, but again purely subjective.

*edit* You can also increase your resistance to an element by wearing certain jewelery or armor. (A warder's belt can be purchased and provides 5% resistance to fire, ice and magic. ) Items that provide that are described as being "Pro", like the leather Pro magic provides 25% resistance to magic.

It is best all around to save your game very often and if your character dies to simply reload. Avoid using R if at all possible. Once you get through one of the preliminary quests in the game you will receive a "Crystal of Life" celestial spell that is like a revive or resurrection spell. You can spend your advancement points if you use the spell (I believe, I usually just re-load nonetheless) and also you will not suffer a penalty by using the spell. Pressing R will penalize you by dropping one of your character's atttributes by 1. (for example if you have strength 19 it would drop to 18 after pressing R)

The heraldry will only give your character some protection from actually dying. It will not do anything about penalties.

This is what I meant about seeing what the character's resistances are. Where it says "Pro" means how much she is resistant (the percentage) to whatever the particular element is.

I looked more closely at the website you gave the link to in your first post and it seems to me that is based on the very early edition of Dungeon Lords. The game has been updated both by patches and retail versions.

OK, here's another small question: What are the numbers in the parentheses compared to the numbers outside of them?

What the character's innate or natural resistances are vs wearing a ring/trinket or armor that provides a resistance...sort of like an enhancement to the wearer for the time that they have the item equipped. For example, the Chain Pro-fire has a 25% resistance to fire damage...there are some other armors that are pro fire, pro magic, pro gas and some other "pro's".

If you like, you can read through the equipment database which gives information on all the goods in the game.

Equipment Database

(Hey, so you are from Manchester NH? I don't live all that far from the border near Mason...I am in Mass. Probably about an hour or so from Manchester.)
