Need some spells

ok guy, well i have been playing this game for 3 or 4 months now on and off. I started playing again as a mage who was going to focus mainly on rune spells but that changed when i couldnt find more then 2 rune spells. Rune armour and strike. So i went with some arcane spells and i am having alot of fun with those.

Now my question is i am in Skuldoon, and i was wondering if there are any other place's that i might have missed that i can buy more spells be it nether, arcane or rune( no divine cause they suck).

thanks for the help
Anthony

Grymlock has the most rune spells. If you haven't installed patch 1.3 then there are only 2 or 3 rune spells in the game (you might have patch 1.2 in which case I don't know what you might find because I jumped from 1.1 to 1.3). The witch in the devil's marsh, grymlock and the mages guild in Fargrove are the only ones who sell arcane spells. Nether spells are sold by witch in devil's marsh (I think) and witch doctor in skuldoon.
You can sell 1 spell to a merchant and that merchant will then sell them back to you in unlimited amount. You can find a list of ingredients needed to make all the nether spells here on the walkthrough so you don't need to buy any of the nether spells if you can find the ingredients. As a side note though some of the nether spells may not work even though you can mix them up. Unfortunately I don't have a list of which ones are suspect. Maybe someone has a list or otherwise mix with care. One more note don't buy more then one rune spell because they do not stack and don't go in to your junk inventory. Your money just goes down a hole. You need to buy multiple rune stones to get multiple charges of the spell. D

thanks alot man, that had alot of stuff i needed to know.
I am currently playing 1.3, i meant to mention that but i forgot until you did lol. So far i only have 11-12 arcane spells and i think 6 rune spells.

So is it that they just have not implemented them all or am i missing them alltogether? And i hope that 1.4 fix's alot of these problems lol

cheers

Somewhere there is a list of spells that are missing from the game but it's been awhile since I've seen it. I'll try and list the ones I think are in the game.
Arcane
freezing touch
shrieking star
magic missile
burning hands
fire burst
fireball
shooting sparks
ice shards
blast nova
flamethrower
iceball
ice nova
fire nova
Celestial
heal
sleep
dispel undead
silence
solar ray
time warp
unpetrify
ward of fire
lighting
resurrection
purify
divine strike
ward of ice
blessed spirit
ward of petrification
divine intervention
Rune (i might miss a few of these)
rune strike
rune armor
rune speed (?)
rune shield
rune blade
rune warrior (?)
spitting shield
anti-magic shield
santuary

I've never played with nether so I'll leave that for someone else to list. Sorry if i missed some present or not. D

Nether Spels

Well almost all of the nether spels work except for the "dragon fist" spel and "hate" spel.

Go to http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords/nethermagic.php
to see all the nether spels and their mix.

Arrow Other Places for Spells

Hi bluecoral,

The only two Rune spells that I found were the same ones you have.

I remember buying spells in the following places: Fargrove, Arindale both
have multiple places. You can also buy them in Skuldoon and from the
following people; Grymlock in the Northern Steppes, Rianne the Wicca (witch)
in the Devil's Marsh. I am not quite as sure about this last one and that is
Staroxia in the Forbidden Lands.

Not all Celestial spells suck.

I would suggest trying the following three that I have used; Restoration gives
full health, Blessed Spirit gives you an Angel who heals you but I don't think
she defends herself and the final one is Divine Intervention and you can
summon up to at least six Angels who will help out fighting or you can take a
break and let them do the fighting.

If you have a spell you want more of sell one of them to every merchant you
come across and you will be able to buy as many more as you can afford in
different locations on the map. I have sold one Nether Katal of the few
Nether spells I use to eveyone so I can replenish whenever I want. I just
have to run to the nearest merchant unless there is a Moongate nearby.

I hope this helps!

Angry Not all Nether spells work for me either

I can't get Summon Giant to launch. I can hear some activity that I suspect is the summoned troll, but nothing materializes. Same problem with Summon Deathlord.
I'm using ver 1.3 and I've got 8 in Nether Magic. I can summon a fiend, no problem. Haven't tried Hate.
And while were ranting about spells, I have to agree with another post that Shrieking Star is useless.

well i would to say thanks again to all you guys for the help

now the only spells rune spells that i have not gotten from your list frencliff is rune speed and spitting sheild, so i think i have all the spells that are available. Does anybody know if there going to be putting more spells into the game or is that all, is it the works, i really hope so.

And for the nether spells, i have really gotten intrigued by them, if i take the proper katals and mix them will i still get the right spell affect like the summon minotaur or something will it still work if i do not have the spell thing for it . Hope it makes sence

Cool Mix up the mahem!

You can collect/buy katals and make any spell you want. Use the spell guide on this site. Print it out, have it handy, and whip up a Fiend next time you're feeling a little overwhelmed. Having points in Nether magic is advertised to kick up your success rate. The summoned allies only last for a little while before fading out, but they can follow you around and help until they expire.

The same is true for Rune magic. Buy up the individual runes (I suggest visiting Grymlok) and put them together to make spells. I'm more of a Nether magic type myself, but if you have all the runes you should be able to make all the spells.
** An experienced Rune Dude needs to post the mixtures like they did for the Nether spells. **

I'll get back to you with the Spitting Shield components soon. It's one of the few that I have.

I have 'spitting shield' so I know it's in the game. I got it as a random drop from a bladewitch in the vale of ruin (only rune drop I've ever had). Sorry yes, I don't think rune speed is in the game, my bad.
As far as I know if you mix the right katals you get the spell. The limited ones I've tried have all worked. I've seen a lot of conflicting reports about which nether spells work and which don't (case in point this thread). Save your game mix and try them out is the best advice I can think of. If it works reload and remix and go find a victim. Not having nether magic at a level at or above the level of the spell will make the spell not work a % of the time. D
You can not mix up rune spells the way you mix up nether spells. You have to buy the spell and then charge it by buying stones.

Arrow Gobatcha & Bluecoral _ Don't hold back on your Magic!

I have tried almost all Nether spells from Level 4 to 10 and the only ones that
didn't work were Hate, Possesion, Suffocating cloud and Blinding Fog. The
rest worked very well and some were alot of fun.

I would suggest taking all of your magic abilities up to at least Level 15 as
that seem to help me in getting them to work and it also increases the power
of the spell.

Shrieking Star is not a useless spell as it is a cheap spell. I used it to take
out bats, rats, bees, snakes and a number of other pests which means that
saved my better spells for when I needed them. You can also start firing at
a distance and it can take out several pests with one cast.

When using magic don't just stand there in one place, move and keep casting
as you move that keeps distance between you and your enemies and allows
you to sidestep, roll sideways or forwards to avoid their attacks. You also
disrupt their attack when your magic hits them.

Bluecoral _ by putting points in the magic skills you are going to use they will
be more effective and anything you summon will be stronger. Once you get
your Nether Magic level over 10 cast Summon Giant and let your enemies
attack him while you pick them off.

Here is the link to the Forums complete list of spells and what they do:

http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/s...s.type=Helmets

The different Spell classes are listed on the left side just click on the class
you are interested it.

The cheapness of shrieking star isn't necessarily the only reaon that it's not a complete waste of time. It pushes mobs back as well as dealing them a bit of area damage. I use it when I'm being crowded and don't have the time to whip off a fireball without getting hit. The star casts alot faster and pushes back the enemy(ies) untill I think I can get off a fireball or two for better damage. Granted I don't use magic that much, so I don't know if higher level spells have a faster casting time and nullify that bonus, but even so it gives you something to fall back on.

Arrow I've used it on wolves and undead

Hi Goth_Furox, thanks for the response.

It is a handy little spell indeed but there is one that is better and works on all
enemies. The spell is 'Fire Burst' and it fires two nasty little balls of fire at the
same time and nobody is immune to it. It is a level three Arcane, has plenty
of distance and you fire with both hands very fast. It also has knockback
power. Here is how it is described on GB's Equipment Database page:
"Fires dual minor fire projectiles at your current target that explode upon
impact, blasting any enemies within the radius of the explosion". I have
taken down every type of opponent in the game with it as it can also
interrupt the enemies spell casting. Once again this is not an expensive spell
so buy plenty and you can trade off between Shrieking Star and Fire Burst
saving FB for the larger mob or sized enemies.

I would also suggest Blast, Ice and Fire Novas for those situations where you
find yourself surrounded by 20-40 enemies. They then become lifesavers.

Fire Burst is actually faster than Shrieking Star.

Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Actually, I have fire burst as well, I just never got any spells higher than fireball. I still seem to have better results pushing back mobs with the star, but yeah, fire burst does also have a better cast time than fire ball. I would guess this is because while the fire burst pushes more distance and hits twice, the star spell pushes them back for the entire duration that the spell hits them. so even though the damage of the star is lower if you hit somebody dead on, you can push them back further, as well as head off anybody close to your dead center.
