Hi there:

Could you give a few more details about what the nature of the problem is? You didn't kill him....and what else?

Did he appear?
Did he kill your character?

So, give some more details, ok?

*edit* you know that the dust summons his spirit and then you fight with him, correct? Another member had a problem with him dropping an item, make sure when fighting malokan that you are not too far away from him (if you were using a ranged weapon).

Try the walkthrough as well... scroll to number 11:

I sprinkled the dust one time before and he came out but me and my husband were lan playing and we were lagging so bad we had to quit playing with that quest.I think I saved it ,and then we went back to the moon rock about one month later and I tried the dust again and nothing happened.

The only thing I could suggest is if you have a save from before the first time using the devil's dust. You could re-load and try again.

I play multiplayer with my boyfriend, and keep copies of saved games in folders and have backups before important fights. Try to save as much as you can. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that...
