Go into the patch folder and ctrl+a to select all...
click back to your dungeon lords folder and ctrl+v to paste.
Say 'yes to all' about replacing stuff, since that's why you're patching anyway.
Then you should have 1.3.

| | | YES! 1.3 WORKS!! Ok, new problem: When I click on Mirror 3 at the link for 1.4 german, should I save it and where or open it? Whenever I save it somewhere I can't open or extract it because the computer says it's corrupted or invalid. |

I don't know where you are trying to download it from, but I know the above isn't corrupted and it is the German 1.4 that I used.

| | | Ok, I downloaded it, then installed it under C:/Program Files/Dreamcatcher/Dungeon Lords. When I try to get into th game, it says there's an "Open Error in GNPCDATA.PAK. What's this mean?

With that many errors, I would uninstall DL. Goto C:\Program Files\Dreamcatcher and DELETE the Dungeon Lords folder if it's still there.
Then re-install from scratch. Patch to 1.3, then German 1.4, then re-download the 1.41 mod an re-install it... unless you've gotten it to work already.
Unless of course you didn't install the mod after installing the German patch.

| | | Umm...what do you mean, "uninstall?" I deleted Dungeon Lords and Dreamcatcher folders, and now I can't get installshield wizard to run when I put in CD 1.

To uninstall a program from Windows you would goto Start, Settings, Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs... in this case you would look for Dungeon Lords on the list and click it once to highlight it, then click Remove.
If this step was skipped, try browsing the Dungeon Lords CD and double click on setup.exe to see if it will install.

Hmm... don't understand what's up with that. The GNPCData.pak is included with the 1.41 installer, and if pointed to your dungeon lords folder will overwrite the file if it's there, in use, or locked.
Are you sure you're installing the mod to the Dungeon Lords folder?
One way to test it would be to rename your NPCDATA.PAK file to NPCDATA.ORG...
Then rename your GNPCDATA.PAK file to NPCDATA.PAK.
Then run the game and see if you get an error, OR if the item names are in German. If so, the mod isn't installed right.
Your main menu should also say German to English v1.41 mod (or something to that effect).

| | | I think I found the problem: When moving 1.3 into DL folder, the copy & paste thing doesn't work, or didn't,and now there's are a lot of things still in it's seperate folder. With 1.4 installed, to I have to get 1.3 again and reinstall 1.4?
