I'm not totally sure what you mean, but if your saying what I think your saying, here goes.

The only way you could NOT have a CD key is if the program is pirated or copied somehow. Every game box came with a little bluish card and a CD key on it. That is how you get onto the net servers. If you didn't get one, I'd assume you downloaded, copied, or borrowed it from a friend, thusly you won't be able to get on the servers.

If you did buy it, well that little bluish square card thing is your answer.

So DL has servers of their own? Are there any people there? I tried the multi-player option, but it was too confusing. I thought I needed to know IP addresses, specific ports, and such..

i didn;t get a little bluish square card...on the back of the 1st cds paper case sleeve it had the key on it. But it won;t work for me...i can;t do the update because 1.3 doesn't support verson 1.2E
