Inventory

I am having the same problem as dkdragon had. When I use the add item to the inventory. I select weapon then scroll down to find a weapon. I then press save and get an error message: Add failed duplicate key value supplied.

What am I doing wrong?

Everything else is working really good.

please download the file again. I have updated it recently to correct those issues. let me know how it works

Interesting... if you don't mind email me the sav file at dungeonlord@logicse.com. Also, I need to know the following:
-Verison of dl your are playing, 1.4(Non-CE) or 1.5(CE) or which other
-Which item/code your tring to add
-Does this occur with all items or just a few specific items
I will be glad to attempt to recreate the problem and debug the program, but additional information would be very helpful. One other idea could be that there is a maximum of 256 items in the game, which I have not tested how my program works with that many items. I know what I intended it to do in that case, have actually tested that many items. Any additional details that you can offer would be very helpful. I look forward to hearing back from you.

add inventory error

trying to add Custard Mansion Key for a multi-player character. Error below:
Same error for single-player save.

Alright, the previous error posted by bedwine was possibly caused by a corrupter character file according to his email...Which version of DL are you playing? Can you send me a copy of the game file which you are attempting to add this key to dungeonlord@logicse.com? Have you removed any items from your inventory with this editor?

UPDATE on the duplicate index error that sometimes occurs when adding items. I believe the issue occurrs when items were removed from and then new ones added to the list. I had to re-write the item management routine to renumber the item in the list differently. Re-download the updated version and let me know how it works. The new version (once unzipped) should be called DLGameEditor V1_53Bbeta.exe instead of DLGameEditor V1_53beta.exe. I hope it resolves your errors.

got it to work maybe

I was able to add the Custard Mansion Key after doing the two following things. Not sure which actually helped. Thanks again for the awesome tool.

fix was either
Rebooted after .NET install and/or gave the key a value ID of 5.

I'm on DLCE.

On a side note we are stuck at the elven gates in the Elven Lands. We each got the Mark of whatever from the ghost in the tower, and they let us into the town. After a quit and reload in the town we no longer have the mark. But cannot pass the gates to get out wither to Arindale or Fargrove! We had to jump the fence and are in the process of walking to Arindale via Talendor. Ow my feet.

Is there any way to make the non-implemented spells work? (they don't with the editor)

Did you re-download the editor after my last reply? I did find an issue in the way that I was handling the numbering of the items it their array which was evident when you removed an item from your inventory and tried to add another one.
Rebooting after .net may or may not have be the solution, but an item id of 5 would have given you a braclet of might and not the key of your choice.
As far as loosing the mark, I'm not sure what's going on there. Thanks for the great feedback and enjoy.

I'm not sure, can you be more specific? Which spells are not working in the editor and what are the item codes? As long as I don't have to write a patch for the game itself, the answer is probably yes.

key issue

I was not using the latest editor ending in 'B'. I didnt choose object 5 I went to keys and chose the custard key. then to the left there is a value field that has to do with that item that is selected and I entered 5.

ahhh...I think I understand. You changed the staus code for the item. This is a two byte value used in a binary form by the game to control various aspects of the item status including wether its equipped or junk, etc..

Reusults vary. For some, they show up in the inventory, but when I click on them to cast, the smaller spell menu at the bottom of the screen doesn't come up so I can't cat it. For others that happens and I can make the motions for the spells, but nothing happens.

custard key

Well it worked and it didn't. Since it was a MP game I was only able to edit my friends character...it seemed. But in actuality I was editing mine. So I modified my lockpicks to be the custard key and something else to be the map. All because he is a rogue and im not, so its more important for him to be able to complete the quest. Anyhow it gave the items to me and not to him, and since they are undroppable...it was as if nothing had been done. Eventually thru restarts and saves and so forth we both ended up with no key, yet still had the quest in both of our todo lists. It seems to be a bug with the quest more than the editor, as when we go to talk to Delilah she asks for the map, yet we have no key. on our initial attempt before all this started my friend got the key and I didnt thinking he could get me in, so he went in, founr out I couldnt get in, came out and I got the key. Suddenly we realized he didnt have the key anymore. At which point we began the editor journey. Now all our last saved multi characters are gone, and all we have are new lvl 1 ones that we were gonna edit back up to our original MP status, sans any quests and quest related bugs. Long rambling post. Heres hoping the quest editor COMES SOON! Keep up the great work.
