The newest editor version is getting so much better now with the Classes working. I discovered that double-left click or single right click will clear a class so that I can choose another. GREAT!

By the way, I just downloaded the latest editor (I missed the second release on the 12th. Didn't nothice the 1.55b

I've started number 33 playthrough and had a brainstorm. By keeping the starting character, I can have any race by using the hex codes for each one, even changing race anywhere in the game. Where will it all end? HE HE !

Thanks as always, George! You know you are a DL junkie, right? I think they have a support lines open 24/7 just in case you even want out There is a visible end in sight to this project...

-Adding Quests section
-Correct the interactive mapping
-Expand mapping controls beyond World map to various dungeons
-Race, Picture manipulation

I'm not sure that there will be much more to do than that I still need to get more info about that map vision ("fog of war") edit that you mentioned somewhere along the way.

Exclamation

The fog of war is always in the same location between the last group of data and the next group up from there. The 14 always has the same bytes between it and the last byte of the previous group of data.

The 10 always has the same bytes between it and the last group of data.

There is always 000000 between the 14 and the time data. I don't believe there's any limit to what the time can be set to. I've set it as high as 500,000,000, but even the slowest bumbling gamer could make it in much less time than 100000000.

I usually make it in 20000000 or so, but hey, I've played so many times that I know exactly what to do and exactly where to go.

Corruption.

Alright. So, there I was, just got my T3 Warlock class, in the Draedoth Temple. Well, I shut one of the doors (Cuz I'm stupid like this) and f-rolled under the closing gate. This is in the same passageway that connects to the small-ish bloodriver. Well ... You can't get out, of there, once you've done that. And, yes, stupid me, I had played this game LONG ago, and forgotten what to do, and that's why I rolled under the door, on a frustrated, stupid hunch, but, hey ... So, I decided "Well, why not simply use the editor, and make it take me to someplace outside of here? That's what the map function is for, right? Sure. I trust it." ... *sigh* Weeell ... Everyplace I ask it to make me spawn at ... I get a "Monster In Space" error. -EVERY- time. And now, sure, I only played that character (Mage/Theif/Enchantress/Battlemage/Warlock) for a day ... But it was almost a day STRAIGHT. >_<! Please ... Help me fix this. All I want, is a safe spawn, outside of the temple. I can go from there.

By the by, I didnt quite realize that it overwrote your backups, so after the first map-move failure, I simply tried it again, at a different location, so, the original save, where I was in the temple, staring hopelessly at the gate-lever, is lost. -_-;
And, next time, when I'm lost and frustrated, instead of doing something that could lock me into a single corridor with no escape .. I'll simply tell my stubborn, "I dont need the internet's walkthroughs to get me through a dugeon, I want to do it myself" sense to Stuff It and just come check out the walkthrough for 30 secs.

Help me out? o.O

You cannot edit a save to go from inside dungeons and buildings to the outside world or from outside to inside. You can only go from one point to another while inside, or from point to point while outside.

Your not screwed at all. All you have to do is change one byte to a "00" and you'll be able to use the editor to move you around the world map. You will have to hex edit your saved file and modify the byte 56467 bytes from the end of the file, which is also 23,004 bytes before the second from the last appearence of you characters name. This is the byte that determines which map your character is located on. Once set to zero, select a location in the editor and save the file. Presto.. you'll be fine. If you have trouble locating the correct byte, email me the saved file and I change it for you. DungeonLord@logicse.com. I'm working on making that map function work within dugeons too.

Additional information regarding the Map/Dungeon Selection byte. Here are the values for this byte that I had already determined:
0 World Map
6 Arindale-Emindor Tower
7 Arindale-Temple of Empyrean
9 Arindale-Great Hall-Trial of Ancients
12 Talendor-Chamber of Spirits
36 Fargrove-Garrison District
38 Fargrove-Circene Catacombs
40 Fargrove-Town Center
41 Fargrove-Monestery
42 Fargrove-Temple of Circene
43 Fargrove-Slum District
46 Maze of Irynthabl

Well, that's awesome. Thanks alot.

I never really understood the hexing. I tried, once upon a time ago, but ... It was too much for me. Like Neo looking at the Matrix for the first time. Nuh huh. xD

Emailing soon.

And, god, is it awesome that you guys check this thread so promptly. <3

Maybe a FUBAR Situation

I don't know if this is a documented problem, but whenever I use the Editor (v.1.55b or v.1.54b) and reenter the game, I've lost my primary weapon. It shows as "equipped" in the inventory screen, but my character is empty handed. I've tried dropping and reacquiring the item, to no avail. Any ideas??????

Hmm, interesting problem. Can you try the release V1.56a that I just put out. If the problem still exists, can you email your file to dungeonlord@logicse.com so that I can run some tests with it.

I had the basically same thing. It was on the screen in my EQ, but not in my char model, and the model didnt attack asif the weapon was simply "invisible" or anything, but all I had to do to fix it was unequip and reequip it. *shrug*

Unhappy lost experience

I'm using version 1.56a, and it worked great for adjusting some ability levels, some money, and giving me the demon key.

One bug is that you can only see your items when looking at everything -- the categorization of keys, etc. doesn't show any items.

But my main problem is -- I LOST MY EXPERIENCE

Yes, my experience was reset to zero, or some small number. I ended up having more advancement points than experience. I'm back up to level 10, but I should be level 15. Is there any way to fix this, or will another version let me adjust my experience properly? I just tried editing the experience back up again, and it did nothing.

Thanks - otherwise a great start on an editor. Hey, if this were open source, I could have made the fixes myself

By the way, I'm running Dungeon Lords CE.

At certain parts of the game, it seems that the editor only allows a certain amount of experience. I've tried to set it at something like 100000000 (1 hundred million), and back in the game it only shows about 17000000. But by hex editing the save, whatever you set it at is what you get in game.

Bad news...

I write this reply with a very sad mood. I have lost a great deal of data on my primary computer from the past 2 months including all updates to my source code from version 1.54. The laptop that I have learn to depend on has died recently. The motherboard and hard drive failed. Still awaiting completion of the repair. I'm told by Tuesday, but then the reconstruction of all of my lost data begins. It will probably be sometime before things (including DL Game Editor development) return to normal. Sorry to all
