Does the Nether spell Choking Cloud not work? Everytime I try and cast it nothing happens, even though a charge is used up when I do. Anyone else have this problem? (I can cast nether spells of that level and higher by the way)

Choking cloud and suffocating cloud do not work. as well as Possesion, Confusion, Blinding fog, Dragon claws, in the nether spells.. Arcane spells that don't work are Wall of fire, Pillar of fire, Fire missles, Fire storm, Ice storm, Burning vapors, Freezing vapors, Fire Mine.. And the Rune spells that don't work are.. Vengance, Urths Wrath, Orbs of defense, Rock mines, And sanctuary doesn't seem to work or doesn't work for that long. And Celsetial spells that don't seem to work are, Divine Grace, Illusionary visage, Blink, and Prismatic rays.

Holy cow, that's a lot of spells that don't work. Have they said if they are going to fix it?

I haven't heard anything about them fixing them or not yet. But from 1.4 to 1.5 they just fixed just a few them the nether spell hate now works and the arcane spell cataclysym.

Stargazer doesn't work either. Also, the Scrolls of Dispell Illusion, that Grymlock has, only show up in the sell screen!

There is one Nether spell that has been added that isn't on any of the lists here I found quite by accident.. It is called summon Evil and it will summon a visage of a Demon that resembles the feind of Gasbu and Voratuss.. To mix the spell you need the following.. Brimstone Powder, Demon Horn, Blood Nectre, Soul Stone (It will appear in the ingredient list twice it's a bug but can only be used once), Raven Claw, Monkey Paw, And Dried Homonculous (Which you get out of the tomb of souls or from the vale of ruin in the chest at the far bottom left corner). It is a lvl 12 nether spell and I suggest being at least a lvl 13 or higher so it doesn't turn on you the minute you summon it because it is rather nasty and can do damage to you if it hits you. Unlike the Summon Gaurdian he will always be armed with a weapon in at least one hand if not both plus spits fire and cast spells.

Thanks, Iceman1963, for directing me to the list of spells confirmed not to work in version 1.5CE. I copied and pasted the list to my hard drive to keep as reference.

From what I've experience Sanctuary works when I was taking multiple forms of magic damage...I took no damage...and I don't even think the character flinched.

I also thought that the Rune spells that provide +strike and +armor can't be verified...or can they? At times I think it might be working, but there really isn't a definite way...unless you crank Rune Magic Skill up 15-30, I suppose.

It's funny, because all the spells I've mainly used did not appear to be on your list. And seeing how I avoid using Nether magic...that is probably why I never really noticed how many spells were bugged. Additionally, I mostly play melee characters and disapprove of any forms of magic...so that is why my knowledge of the bugged spells is limited.

There is also a list of all the Arcane and Celstial spells I have tried that don't work.. And they seem to be some very nice spells I would love to have wall of fire working for some parts of this game.

I kno wat u mean. Poisonous Touch seems like a good spell, but its a shame that it dont work. Coz poisoned weapons would totally 0wn! But there is a poison nether spell that is a personal fave of mine. its Poisonous Cloud. ZOMG, that spell R0X0RZ! its great for controlling mobs. I HIGHLY recommend it!
