Can not enter shadow ruins

Hello all,

I am playing the collector's edition of Dungeon Lords. I have placed the shadow crystal on it's altar, but cannot find a gate to enter the shadow ruins. The runes above the archway are glowing blue, but no gate. I have been saving frequently, and killed the Gazer, got the crystal a second time, placed it on the pedestal/altar (again) and still no gate. In the tasks window it still says I need to go to the lake of woe get the crystal, blah blah blah for Staroxia. I revisited Staroxia and she also says to get the crystal. I have gotten three other relics of power and fear I am stuck. I never entered the shodow ruins. The patches state that you can now leave and reenter the shadow ruins if you have not obtained the relic there. I fear I'm stuck . . .can anyone help?

The blue cloud IS the gate. Just step into the blue cloud and hit Shift

Thanks for the quick reply. There is not, nor was there ever a blue cloud. Just the runes carved into the stone above the archway. If I log off and then reload a saved game (facing the archway) a dark blue cloud appears for a second, then dissipates immediately. Even if I press shift immediately, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Hi again,

I am playing the CE version, and cannot enter the shadow ruins. I have placed the crystal on the alter (and have repeated this entire process twice in fact), but a gate has never appeared. The patches state that I should be able to leave/re-enter the shadow ruins if I have not obtained the relic. The problem is I have not been able to enter at all. If I save the game facing the archway and reload, I blue cloud appears briefly, then dissipates immediately. Even if I am standing in this cloud and press shift for the second it is present, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Let's see now; after going out the south gate of Fargrove, you made your way through Skuldoon, then out its sw gate and go talk to Staroxia to learn all about the totem tree and Isle of damned, and the shadow crystal, made your way to the Shadow ruins to use the shadow crystal and enter the ruins.

Other than that, I can't even imagine what's wrong. Some gamers will place the shadow crystal, then go off somewhere instead of entering the ruins right then. Once inside, they also decide to leave to get potions or whatever, only to find out they can't get back in !

The patch notes lied. If you place the crystal on the altar and then load your game or leave the area, then you won't have any way to get inside the Shadow Ruins. You'll have to go back to an earlier save.

Btw, please don't create multiple threads for the same problems.
