Altar of Shadows

Can anyone help? I got 3 of the relics but do not have a shadow stone in my inventory to put in the altar of shadows and there isn't one in the arms of the statue at the south end of the statue room. I'm not sure if it is connected but there are no chessmen in the chess room either. Do they only appear when you place the shadow stone? I was running v 1.1, but have applied the v1.4 patch as it mentioned a bug about shadow stones, but it doesn't seem to have helped.[/size][/size]

In the room with a knight statue on each of the four sides, one of them should have a shadow stone. It is one of the light blue ones and it's necessary to make the chessmen appear.

Thanks to George K, but I've still got the problem, The statue in the south of the room doesn't give a "shift" prompt when you approach it (the FAQ suggests it is this one which gives the stone). The statues east and west give a Knights Templar prompt, but you can't interact with them and the one in the north gives a Lord Kingston prompt and I can't interact with it either.

If all else fails is there a hex code for the shadow stone?
